The 50 Calibre revolution
G.I. Milsim was established in 2009 by paintball innovator Richmond Italia, along with the assistance of Bill and Adam Gardner.
Some truly remarkable designs and engineering have resulted, and the start of a new paintball revolution has begun! Bringing G.I. Milsim’s creative
ambitions to reality called for a deeply seasoned and imaginative engineering group. Smart Parts’ American designers and engineers collaborated
with two brilliant designers from Asia and several more from Canada to bring the project to fruition.
After intense developments and testing, G.I. Milsim has delivered an inspiring and remarkable line of .50 caliber products.
Tremendous G.I. Milsim performance, function and convenience will usher in a new era of excitement to the great game of paintball! From purposebuilt WoodsBall and Scenario products to inspiring Sport and Tournament rigs, G.I. Milsim will set the new benchmark of excellence.
So what’s all the fuss with 50 Cal?
The benefits of 50 cal are almost endless, from reduced operating costs to freight savings, from accuracy to less impact, the benefits span from the
manufacturer to the field operator to the paintball player.
Accuracy and Operation
50 Cal markers utilise the same technology as 68 calibre. Providing markers with the most modern valve and operational technologies. Accuracy and
operation is not compromised. Trajectory and distance is not compromised with ball flight being equally achieved by both 50 and 68 cal.
Weather conditions also do not impede 50 cal performance. The marking capability of the 50 Cal paintball does not significantly reduce and
produces only a slightly smaller “splat” than the 68 Cal paintball. Tests on a 68 Cal paintball show that a significant amount of paintball fill is lost
when blown out on impact due to the volume of the paintball.
Impact
The 50 Cal Paintball requires less joules of energy to be propelled over the same distance as a 68 Cal paintball, less joules of energy pertaining to
paintball impact equals far less hurt and bruising. This leads directly to the .50 Caliber being safer on paintball goggles and other equipment. A 68
Cal paintball requires around 12 Joules of energy compared to that of a 50 Cal requiring only 5 joules. A big difference.
Cost savings are made immediately for both the field operator and the player and represent huge savings. In summary cost savings would be made
in the following areas:
Cost Savings
AIR CONSUMPTION
In field tests conducted Internationally, a 60% reduction in air or Co2 consumption was achieved in comparison with 68 Cal markers. This advantage
alone has a huge impact on both players and field operators. Players can remain in the game longer before refilling is required. Paintball operators
may not require to re-charge air bottles during a days play with rec-ball customers, therefore eliminating long periods of down-time.
STORAGE
50 Cal paintballs require approximately 50% less storage space than 68 Cal. This means paintball operators can minimise their storage areas or hold
double the paint. It also means that players have the convenience of carrying more paint on their person, without the inconvenience of waiting until
games end or being served. Hoppers and pods can hold more paint effectively doubling the amount of paint that can be carried, more convenient for
the player and potential increased sales for the operator.

SHIPPING
Always a huge cost factor. The 50% saving on space means that twice the amount of paintballs can be shipped on a pallet, therefore lowering the
shipping component in transport costs.
Crunch the numbers
Both field operators and players should crunch the numbers and consider the cost savings and benefits of 50 Cal conversion. In today’s competitive
paintball environment every dollar counts. Savings made per week on paintball costs, air and co2, labour and handling etc, accumulated over a 12
month period will no doubt reflect a huge cost saving. For paintball operators, in a short period of time the cost of conversion to 50 Cal will not only
pay for itself but will start to provide the prospect of increased savings and or profits.

This is the base model and will feature, for the very first time on an Eclipse
marker, Composite parts. The composite parts in question are manufactured
from Glass Reinforced Nylon. A very durable material that is both tough and
rigid. The GRN parts found on the Etek3 LT will be the Frame, the Eye Covers and
the Lever-Locking Clamping Feedtube assembly. All other parts of the Etek3 LT
are manufactured from exactly the same materials and finishes you will find
on the Ego10 and SL range. High grade aluminiums and stainless steels, deep
cosmetic and industrial hard anodizing. No corners are cut in the manufacture
of the Etek3.

The AM is intrinsically identical to the LT, but has an All Metal
construction. The Frame, Eye Covers and Feedtube are all
high-grade aluminium, just as you will find on the rest of the
marker. All other components of the marker, such as bolt,
rammer, barrel and circuit board are all the same and are 100%
interchangeable between the LT and the AM.
