To access Torrance Barrens, take HwyL 169 from Gravenhurst north to Torrance and turn south on to Clear Lake Road. Alternate road access from Torrance south on Southwood
Road (Muskoka Road 13) and travel 7 kilometres to the Torrance Barrens sign.

TRANS-CANADA TRAIL - URBAN SECTION - 16 KMS - EASY LINEAR (OR LOOP BY ROAD)
The trail travels through the urban core from North Shore Dr. at Bethune Dr. N. to the northern trailhead along Muskoka Beach Rd. at the boundary to the Town of Bracebridge.
Following roads, sidewalks and pre-existing trails, it winds its way through the urban core, past parks, beaches and retail stores, restaurants and historic buildings. After
leaving the downtown area, the trail follows a scenic route along Muskoka Beach Rd.
Lake Muskoka Loop - 96 Kms - Experienced
Follow Bay Street to Regional Rd 169 N to Bala, continue through Glen Orchard
to Regional Rd 118 to Port Carling, continue on 118 to Bracebridge, turn right on

OLD STONE ROAD TRAIL - 6 KMS - INTERMEDIATE LINEAR (OR LOOP VIA ROAD) 1578 & 1824 N. Muldrew Lake Rd.

An original colonization road, this historical route was once an alternate route between Bala & Gravenhurst. Paths of stone mark the trail & huge boulders known as glacial
erratics evidence the tremendous power of the glaciers.

Ontario’s newest barn quilt trail is located in Ryde Township, part of the
town of the Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada. The quilts were erected to
commemorate 135 years of settlement in Ryde. Some buildings are historic,

Exit Doe Lake Road from

Tomingas Road, turn right. Follow
Tamingas Road for approx. 2.5
kms and watch for the northern
tip of sunny lake on the left.
Sunny Lake is a long, thin lake
with a handful of cottages on the
firth shore and a smooth rolling
rock shoreline to the southwest.
Paddle to the very end of the lake
and park your boat on the right
side of the beaver dam and hike
along the creek up to an amazing
bird’s eye view of Three Mile Lake.

Drive ~5km then turn right on
Nine Mile Road. Nine Mile Lake
offers a small lake feel with lots
of big bays to explore.The very
long, very thin bay that heads
northwest has no cottages on
it and has very little traffic.This
bay also allows more seasoned
paddlers the opportunity to
portage into a chain of remote
isolated lakes to the southwest.
Watch for the portage on the
left as you start your way up the
northwest bay. Overnight trips
into these lakes are a real treat.

south side of the river to carry
around Ragged Rapids. Although
a long portage, paddlers are
rewarded with a great view of

you swiftly down to a short
carry over around the majestic
Coopers Falls.The rest of the
Black River has a mix of calm flat
sections and class 1 and 2 rapids.
