As an example of its international growth, in 2010, Gestamp acquired Edscha, a
company specialized in the design and manufacturing of opening-hinge systems
and driver controls for OEMs. Following this operation, Gestamp became the world's
leading company in the manufacturing of hinge systems. In 2011, Gestamp also
acquired Thyssen Krupp Metal Forming, one of the global leaders in chassis
manufacturing with 17 locations around the globe.
This international growth of Gestamp in the automotive industry provides a high
value-added and strategic support to its customers during the manufacturing
process of the vehicle's components as well as in the design and assembly of
products.

LEADERS IN BIW, CHASSIS AND MECHANISMS
Gestamp offers a diverse product portfolio, supplying body-inwhite, Chassis and Mechanisms. The diversification of the
Gestamp product has been essential to strengthen the strategic
relationship with the clients, who trust Gestamp to get innovative
and market-leading product solutions.
PRODUCTS
11
The Body-in-White products include large component parts and assemblies, such
as hoods, roofs, doors, fenders and other high quality “Class A” surfaces and
assemblies, which are used to create the exterior skin of an automobile.
This product portfolio also contains structural and other crash-relevant products,
like floors, pillars, rails and wheel arches, which together with the exterior skin
component parts and assemblies form the essential upper body structure of an
automobile.
Gestamp has a wide range of Chassis products used to create the skeleton, or
essential lower body structure, of the automobile and carry the load of the vehicle.
Systems, frames and related parts, such as front and rear sub-frames and links,
control arms and integrated links are the most relevant pieces of this product
collection.
After the acquisition of Edscha in 2010, Gestamp has become a leader company in
the production of mechanisms with a broad product portfolio that includes mechanical
components such as hinges for doors, hoods, and trunk lids, door checks and door
hinges and powered systems that allow automobile doors to open and close
electrically and by remote activation.

INNOVATION AS A MEANS OF PROGRESS
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
The commitment of Gestamp to developing innovative, high quality products has
formed the backbone of its success since the company foundation in 1997. Gestamp
is a global leader in the automotive supplier industry in the use of high strength
and ultra-high strength steel, which find their application in many body parts of the
car where it helps to reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel and emissions efficiency
while also improving safety in a cost-effective way.
These innovative products and marketing-leading processes are developed through
a targeted R&D platform, which has a dedicated team of approximately 1000
employees, across 12 facilities spread around the globe, matching the customer
expectations and market demands.

PEOPLE AS ARCHITECTS OF SUCCESS
EMPLOYEES
Since its establishment in 1997, Gestamp has been fully aware that the key to its
growth and continued development is its people. The success Gestamp has achieved
is thanks to the significant role that every employee belonging to the company has
played.
Gestamp strategic growth plan, through mergers and acquisitions as well as the
establishment of new companies and internal development, has led to an increase
in the employee workforce, reaching more than 30.000 employees in 2013
Gestamp considers its professional staff as a key concept for its development,
establishing its workforce in three main pillars:
• Young workforce. More than 72% of the employees are 45 years old or younger.
The Management Team also matches this percentage.
• Aimed at stability. Over 90% of labor agreements are open-ended. Turnover
rates are extremely low.
• Highly qualified employees. As a result of the technological innovation and
wide range of product development, 15% of the employees are college
graduates and 57% have at least obtained a technical degree.

WEIGHT REDUCTION AND INCREASED SAFETY
ENVIRONMENT
Gestamp uses environmentally friendly technologies and processes, at the same
time as innovating the design of the products with the final goal of promoting both
weight reduction and safety increase.
Since its foundation, Gestamp has been committed to adapting and using the best
techniques available for its installations, as well as to include environmental aspects
in the design operations of them.
Gestamp is committed to technologies that allow parts to be manufactured from
the strongest steels. The most outstanding technology in this aspect is hot stamping,
that allows parts to be manufactured of ultra-high strength steel, which means
lighter products and, at the same time, products that are more resistant to the
impact produced during an accident.
Gestamp has always had a strong commitment to environmental issues and the
impact of its operations on the environment, including with respect the climate
change, and has also been committed to maintaining high standards of health and
safety.
