Great Country Music- Punta Gorda’s Downtown Hoedown to Support the Troops is
excited to announce that Grammy award winning artist David Ball will headline our event
in 2016. Fourteen of his singles have entered the Billboard charts, including “Thinkin’
Problem” and “Riding With Private Malone,” which made Ball one of the first artists to
take an indie single to the Country Top 5. He has recorded a total of seven studio
albums, including his platinum certified Thinkin’ Problem. The title track was the top
selling country song of 1994.
Joining David Ball is Nashville recording artist Jack Michael, Jack grew up in Punta
Gorda and is currently in development with PCG Nashville pursuing a singing and
songwriting career. Several of his original songs such as “Country Way”, “Our Town”
and ”My Whiskey Won’t” have received critical acclaim in Nashville and are quickly
becoming regional favorites.
Operation Troop Aid- The mission of Operation Troop Aid is to provide care packages
for our deployed U.S. Service members with the revenue generated through professional
concert promotions and public financial generosity. OTA is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation striving to make a positive difference and inspire our Armed Forces by letting
them know Americans stand with them. We salute and support all our Armed Forces!
$2 from every ticket sale will be donated to Operation Troop Aid and their cause!
More than a concert- In addition to great music and a great cause, the Downtown
Hoedown will feature great BBQ from some of the areas best Pitmasters, as well as
great beverages from Budweiser and Jack Daniels. There will be plenty of vendors on
hand for those who want to do a little shopping between shows.

No guns or weapons, or inappropriate or unacceptable merchandise
