“New Birthing Center.
Open MRI.
64-slice CT Scan.
State-of-the-art Surgery Center.
Now that’s thinking.”
– Ron
Belleville Resident
Advancing and improving technologies are essential to a great hospital. At Oakwood Annapolis,
we’re proud to say that we are continually thinking of new ways to move medicine forward.
And we’re doing it through changes that will be important to you and the community, like our
new Birthing Center, 64-slice CT Scan, Open MRI and our state-of-the-art surgery center, to
name a few. It’s a big investment, yes. But we believe that in order for you to get better, we must,
too. No wonder more people around here are saying “My Communit y. My Hospit al.
My Annapolis.” For more information on our new and improved patient services, or for a referral
to an Oakwood Annapolis physician, visit www.oakwood.org or call 800-543-WELL.

presented by Oakwood Annapolis Hospital! Once again
the Wheelfest Commissioners are
excited to invite the entire community
to come and enjoy this family friendly
festival where there is something for
everyone.
This year’s entertainment line up
will pay tribute to the music of the
70s. If you don’t have your entertainment button yet, don’t worry. They
will be available at the Information
Tent all weekend long for the bargain
price of $6 each. This button gives
you access to amphitheater seating for all evening performances all
weekend long. It’s not only a bargain
but helps us to keep providing great
entertainment for Wheelfest!
That entertainment starts at 6:30
p.m on Thursday with Steve King
and the Dittilies. Next, New Odyssey
will wow the crowd. Three men and
thirty instruments. This performance
is not to be missed!
The Great Wheelfest Parade,
sponsored by St. Mary CYO will
march down Wayne Road at 6:00
p.m. on Friday. Watch for all of your
parade favorites. We will have dancers, cheerleaders, color guard, the
Wayne police and fire departments,
Red Hat Hotties and many local
church and school groups. Of course
no parade would be complete without
the Shriners. Come early for your
front row spot!
After the parade stay for the music.
Taking to the stage on Friday night
are Devin Scillian and the Arizona
Sun Band and the Johnny Cash
American Legend tribute . Make sure
to buy your button so you can get a
good seat for this show! Saturday’s
headline entertainment is Draw the
Line, a tribute to Aerosmith. The entertainment will wrap up on Sunday
with tributes to Elton John and Billy
Joel.
What would Wheelfest be without
a display of wheels? The Senior
Activity Center parking lot will be full
of classic cars on both Saturday and
Sunday. With categories like “Best
Use of Chrome” and “Most Likely
to Get Pulled Over While Parked”
you can’t miss the Enjoywayne.
com Charity Car Show on Saturday.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. The
Chevelle Club Car Show on Sunday
is a Wheelfest tradition. This year it is
being sponsored by Glass Unlimited.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Come
see your favorite classic cars.
If you are looking to get out of the
heat, join the Golden Hour Club for
Bingo from 1:00- 4:00 p.m. in the air
conditioned Senior Activity Center.
For the adults, St. Mary CYO will
sponsor poker and a Texas Hold Em
Tournament on Saturday at the Senior
Activity Center from 5-11 p.m.
For the kids, there are the rides
and games at the carnival. Check the
brochure for times and prices.
Come early on Sunday and enjoy
an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast
sponsored by the Wayne Memorial
Cheerleaders. It starts at 9 a.m. in the
Senior Activity Center.
New to Wayne this year are a Taste
of Wayne sponsored by the Chamber
of Commerce and a Euchre tournament sponsored by the Wayne Rotary
Club. Both are on Friday night.
Don’t forget the vendors, food concessions, carnival rides and games
will be open all weekend long.
Wheelfest weekend is a great
opportunity to spend time with your
family and visit with old friends.
Do you think Wheelfest can only be
enjoyed in August? Well think again.
The Wheelfest Commissioners sponsor several fundraising events during
the year. Our next planned fundraiser
is a Halloween party featuring a Dueling Piano Show on Friday, October
24 at the Wayne Community Center.
Tickets are $15 and available at the
Community Center. Don’t wait! This
show will sell out. There will also be a
costume contest.
Please remember to visit all of
the local merchants who made this
brochure possible. They continue to
support Wheelfest every year and we
would appreciate it if you supported
them. Wheelfest
is a great way
to wrap up
summer.
From all of
us, enjoy
