Every holiday is equivalent to a loss of approximately six million dollars (180 million Meticais) to the domestic private sector. On February 5, 2014, during a television speech, the Executive Director of CTA, Kekobad Patel, said: "If we consider the number of workers in the informal sector in our country and workers of the formal economy, we are not far to say that the holidays represent about six millions USD daily loss for the private sector. " According to Kekobad Patel, excess holidays promote the culture of little work, it is contradiction with the position of President of the Republic, Armando Guebuza, who says that Mozambicans have to work harder. Review of Industrial Policy and Strategy The government considers the industry determinant in the action against extreme poverty and for economic development factors. This is why it approved the Industrial and Policy Strategy - Resolution No. 38/2007 of 18th of December which establishes the broad outlines of industrial development in the country. Since the adoption of the Industrial and Policy Strategy in 2007, many activities were conducted and helped to stimulate the industrial sector: ✦Approval of strategies for the development of small and medium enterprises; for the development of textile and clothing, to improve the business environment, among others. ✦Creation of the Institute for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises ( IPEME ), which mainly aims to support the private sector. However, despite the government's efforts, it seems that this policy is no longer appropriate to the current situation. Therefore it is necessary to review this Industrial and Policy Strategy to be in line with the current dynamic of development. In this context, the CTA and the Ministry of Industry and Trade are currently selecting a company that will review this existing industrial policy and strategy.
