The Belgian food, packaging and pharmaceutical technology providers pursue technological
leadership strategies. A key differentiator is its excellence in the hygienic design of their machinery.
The strong exposure to the EU and US markets assures their focus. In cooperation with the EU
downstream industries (food-, packaging and pharmaceutical) and the upstream industries (metal
& plastic products), the technology providers enhance the hygienic performance and the food
safety of their components, installations and machines. Joint brainstorm sessions with downstream
industries on the current challenges of the downstream industry as well the technological
possibilities, increases the pace of technology development in the industry to the benefit of the
final consumer. The technology providers give workshops and training to the food & packaging and
pharmaceutical industry to help them to reduce contamination in their production processes and to
produce better quality products. In conjunction with universities, the technology providers work on
the development of next generation food preservation techniques for higher energy efficiency and
better quality preservation.
