I would like to update you on the status of the youth mission trip. The total
cost of the youth mission trip (plus a little cushion for emergencies) is $7162.30. The
youth so far have raised $3341.56 towards their mission trip to Heifer international.
This leaves $3800 left to raise by July. This seems like a large
amount, but from the help of this church four of our youth alone

am very proud of our youth and I am very happy where we stand now. This is just

We have crosses made from the wood that was
on the 1893 building. These are made from wood
that could not be reused for the building and each
one represents a little bit of our ACC history! If
you would like to have one, see Scottie and for a
donation of $20.00 she will give you a cross.
Funds go to the ongoing restoration.

EASTER—SPECIAL DAY OFFERING
Minute for Mission
Sharing Life in Christ with Global Partners
On a recent Global Ministries pilgrimage to Central America, Disciples regional ministers met the leaders of the Christian Ecumenical Council of Guatemala. While they met together, the leaders of the Ecumenical Council shared their stories of faith and solidarity.
One of the travelers on that pilgrimage was Teresa Dulyea-Parker, the regional minister from IllinoisWisconsin. As Teresa reflected on the journey, she asked what churches in the U>S> could learn from
the Christian Ecumenical council of Guatemala. “Could we learn what it means to seek justice, stand up
for truth, and what it means to be a community that will accompany others? How can we accompany
our partners in Guatemala?”
Teresa took those questions back to the churches in her region and began working with Global Ministries staff to develop a global church partnership. With Teresa’s leadership, the Illinois-Wisconsin Region is nowin relationship with the Christian Ecumenical Council of Guatemala. The region is learning
what it means to share life in Christ by praying for one another and by working on ministry projects in
their own region and in Guatemala.
Last fall, two leaders from the Ecumenical Council traveled to the Illinois-Wisconsin Region for a
weekend and met others from across the region. For 2012, the region is planning a pilgrimage to Guatemala for spring and plans to welcome back the leaders from the Ecumenical Council for the IllinoisWisconsin assembly. They are learning now mutual accompaniment can transform lives and bring new
energy to their ministries. Global Ministries is committed to helping Disciples regions build meaningful
connections like these with partners around the world.
Global Ministries is funded by your congregations’ gifts to Disciples Mission Fund and YOUR gift
to the Easter Offering.

Dear Sondra, John and Congregation,
Thank you very much for the generous and loving gift of three stoles. Actually, it
is a total of six stoles, as each stole is reversibly. The stoles are beautiful and will be worn
with deep appreciation and pride. I am deeply grateful for your generosity.
With Deep Appreciation,
Kenneth E. Hall

Dear Church Family,
Thank you to all for the visits, thought, prayers, cards and
