Amici’s Cucina Hosts the Chamber
Business After Hours on November 18
Amici’s Cucina will be hosting the
Business After Hours for the MidMaine Chamber of Commerce on
Wednesday, November 18th from 5:30
to 7:00 pm.
The Carpinito family opened
Amici’s doors in December of 2010
and is quickly approaching its 5th
anniversary. And, when we say family,
we mean family. Mary Carpinito heads
the front of house operation which
guarantees good service and a wellthemed dining area, which changes
with the season and only seems to
improve over time. Her husband
Angelo is the chef and directs the menu
and guards long time family recipes.
Their daughter Shannon focuses on
the libations, creating craft drinks
with a variety of alcohol. Of course,
they have an excellent wine list featuring many Italian wines and also
feature Italian beers that are unique to
the area.
The dinner menu features a
variety of Italian dishes including
Veal or Chicken Saltimbocca,
Marsalas and Parmesan. Also, the
designer pasta allows you create your
own dish, letting you select your
favorite pasta and sauce, then top it
with your choice of meat or seafood.
All chamber members and
guests are invited to visit Amici’s
on Wednesday, November 18th and
enjoy some complimentary appetizers
and also imbibe on some fantastic
libations.

campus during the school week.
College Step-Up Program provides year
round housing to young adults, who have
received their GED or high school diploma.
While living on GWH campus, they attend
classes at Kennebec Valley Community
College or another local post-secondary
school. They are guided by CSU Advisers,
who assist in day-to-day living skills, and
support with academics.
Glenn Stratton Learning Center (GSLC) is
a day treatment program for those in grades
K-12, who experience significant social,
emotional and behavioral problems. The
staff at GSLC assists the students with social
skills, while the students engage in art and
other hands-on learning projects. The goal is
for the students to transition back into public
school.
L.C. Bates Museum educates children
about natural and cultural history. Many
schools bring their students to the Museum
to learn, and the Museum staff also goes
to local schools to teach. There are also
wonderful historical trails on the land.
GWH invites you on its beautiful campus.
Please feel free to call 238-4000 to set up a
tour. For more information on GWH or its
programs, please visit www.gwh.org.

Good Will-Hinckley (GWH) will
be hosting a Business After Hours for
Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and
Skowhegan Area Chamber of Commerce
members and guests on Wednesday,
December 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. The event

amongst the beautiful trees from GWH’s
23rd Annual Festival of Trees, which is
free and open to the public for viewing
on Sunday, December 6th until Saturday,
December 12th.
Good Will-Hinckley began in 1889 to
provide a home, education and a helping
hand to the young people in Maine. GWH
has served thousands of youths over the
years.
Today, GWH has four programs on its
campus. The Maine Academy of Natural
Sciences (MeANS), which is Maine’s First
Public Charter School, opened its doors in
2011. The school has since outgrown its
facility and recently opened its doors to the
renovated Charles E. Moody School. The
school is generated by 267 passive solar
panels, which is considered net-positive.
MeANS is a non-traditional, individualized
and hands-on approach high school
that focuses on agriculture, forestry and
sustainability. Students come from over
27 districts and have the option to live on
