MOTHERS’ DAY BREAKFAST INVITATION
We will be holding our annual Mothers’ Day breakfast next week on Friday, 6 May from 7:30am in
the cola for our mothers and grandmothers. A muffin and a drink will be $2. Please keep the morning
free. The Mothers’ Day Raffle will be drawn after the breakfast at morning assembly. Gluten free
muffins will be available.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO ASSIST WITH DROP OFF OF A MORNING IN SHAW ST
Can you spare 15 mins of a morning to supervise the traffic flow in Shaw St? We want our students
to be safe and our neighbours to be happy. The congestion is getting worse and we are concerned
for your child’s safety!
The teacher rostered on duty in the afternoon, seems to have assisted in the pickup time zone, but
teachers have lots of meetings scheduled of a morning as well as playground duty, so we are
urgently asking for volunteers who can regularly give 15 mins of a morning to monitor the drop off
zone. The volunteer could be a mum, dad or grandparent. We would need you to fill in a working with
Children Volunteers check that requires a 100 point check. Training will be arranged through the
school with assistance from Gosford Council’s Road Safety Officer. Please contact the office urgently
if you could volunteer for 15 mins once a week.

Please do not block our neighbour’s driveways when you are queuing to either drop off or pick up
your child. This courtesy would be greatly appreciated and will be safer for your child.

If you would like to have your child considered for Year 5 opportunity class entry in 2017, you need to apply soon. You will

ANZAC CEREMONY @ DAVISTOWN RSL - 25th April 2016
It was a beautiful, crisp morning to commemorate ANZAC Day with our local
community on Monday. Miss Babbage, Mrs Self and I were so proud to be
representing Brisbania Public School with many of the students from school.
There were about 30 students
in uniform and I saw many
more with their parents as the
sun rose. Thank you to all the
wonderful parents who woke up
really early, got their kids
dressed and drove, walked or
biked down to our local RSL. It
was wonderful to see students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Sammi-Lee
Edwards and Flynn Gregory were our incredible, mature leaders
representing our school by laying a wreath and reading the poem so
beautifully. I was so very proud of you and thank you for your preparation
and practice during the holidays.
ANZAC Day is a big event for our community (well over 1000 people
attended this year) and an important tradition for our school to be
represented in uniform and a part of the service - see you all next year!
