And we listened to what customers told us about what they’d like to have.
Our 2 Fabricators have been building the Runabouts since the early 90’s. They
are built one at a time! The Balanced 4 x 8 - Seater Frame is patent pend.

Let’s start with the foundation, our welded frame.
• All our high stress Runabout frame tubes are DOM (drawn over mandrel )
steel tubes. Because of it’s strength, it is used for motorsport frames...
stock cars, dune buggies, motorcycles... It is spendy! About 3 times the
the cost of normal welded steel tubing . No other Stroller uses D OM
frame tubes. Runabout frames are hand welded on precision f i x tures.
• To make the Runabout even stronger, all the connecting tubes have
sheetmetal weldments. Thanks to this design, we have never had
a f r a m e b re a k . A f t e r w e l d i n g , w e ‘m e t a l f i n i s h’ e a c h f r a m e b y h a n d .
Wheels are a very impor tant par t of the kar t too.
• End of 2011, we found a precision wheel maker ! Thei r al loy wheels have
stainless steel spokes and precision sealed ball bearing alloy hubs. They
feature a crossed - spoke construction that greatly increases the wheel’s
strength. Like the DOM tubing, they are spendy ! Q u a l i t y isn’t cheap !
• Our 2, 3 & 4 Seaters feature Al l - Terrain Air less Tires. Because of the
a m o u n t o f w e i g h t t h e re a r t i re s m u s t c a r r y f o r t h e Q u i n t s a n d t h e
4 x 8-Seaters , they have Performance Air Tires on the rear wheels
w i t h F l a t - L e s s Tu b e s . S S M o d e l s h a v e R e a r W h e e l D r u m B r a k e s !
And the molded seats hold t he precious cargo.
• Runabouts feature the World’s original Bike Child Carrier Seat created
by Troxel in the 60 ’s. They sold over 1 million. They have an excel lent
safety record and are ASTM approved. Who better to trust for this
i m portant part of our Runabouts? We bought the Troxel molds in 2002.

• The aluminum handlebar retracts into the frame. It is locked with twin
quick - release clamps. You can adjust i t just right to suit your height !

Problems!
January ‘06 : 68 year old Roy Dye began his
walk on his prosthetic leg. The walk benefited
the American Cancer Society. We were afraid
what might happen going down long hills with
his 2 heavy chests. So we designed dual rear
wheel idler pulley brakes to deform the tires
and slow the kart down. Roy was able to dial
the right amount of brak ing with the handle.

Many years ago, I used a Runabout
stroller when I was working at a toddler
centre in Courtenay, BC, Canada. When
I opened my own playschool four years
ago, I knew that a triple Runabout was
what I needed. Since purchasing it, I have
used it nearly every day - of ten ful ly
loaded with three toddlers. I use it
during our daily Nature walks, which
include bumpy roads & forest trails.
The Runabout is a very exceptional
stroller. In my ten years of working as
an early childhood educator, I have not
come across another that is as comfortable to push, durable and lightweight as the Runabout. I highly
recommend them for anyone working
with or parenting young children.
