Izmir - Turkey -
Izmir is, first of all, a big metropolis and a port. It serves tourists as a transportation hub, if they want to
explore the many nearby archaeological sites and beaches. But Izmir is also a worthy destination by itself,
especially if you are looking for a city with a rich cultural life and a mild climate that is close to the sea.

Wonders of the Ancient World.
Theaters, gymnasiums, baths,
the agora, and the
outstandingly reconstructed
Library of Celsus are gorgeous
as well. Paul the Apostle and

have stayed in Ephesus for
several years.

Montopoli has a lot of medieval monuments like the Tower of San Matteo, the Arch
of Castruccio, the “Rocca” and the church of San Giovanni and San Sebastiano.

Montopoli. Castruccio Castracani was a Tuscan soldier
who lived in the 14th century and fought a lot of battles in
Tuscany against the city of Florence.

THE PROJECT DESCRIPTION.
The aim of our Comenius multilateral school partnership project is to raise pupils’ awareness of the
importance of healthy consumer behaviour and to help them to become conscious consumers/customers.
Pupils will learn to distinguish healthy foods, the high quality products and to prepare healthy meals, to
combat obesity. They will also focus on the link between food production and environmental protection, in
partner countries.
Project activities will also be integrated into our regular activities, and art will be used for learning about:
a) healthy food&drinks;
b) environmental protection ;
c) healthy consumer choices;
d) being active;
e) food production processes.
The project idea comes from the fact that today's societies are getting more and more unhealthy. Obesity
among children are increasing and use of chemical additives and pesticides affecting both consumers'
health and environment negatively. The main motivation of this project is to increase the pupils and
students awareness about consumer behavior and health. The project activities will be integrated into
regular curricular activities as well as extra-curricular activities.
By learning about, selecting and eating healthy foods while protecting environment they will become
healthy and conscious members of their society.
The concrete objectives of the partnerships are:
 to increase the consumer awareness of the pupil through art and creativity;
 to help pupils to become healthy individuals;
 to use art for learning about:
 healthy foods&drinks;
 environmental protection;
 healthy consumer choices;
 being active;
 food production processes.
 to create art products from natural materials and increase the environmental awareness in children;
 to develop the creativity in children by using everyday materials;
 to encourage children to explore the world around them;
 to develop social skills and self confidence in children;
 to help children to learn the variety of cultures and languages in the EU.
We intend to increase the awareness about the importance of healthy consumer behavior. Healthy food
consumption is a vital aspect of a child’s development. By learning about healthy food and drink choices
pupil will become conscious consumers. This will also affect their health in a positive way. The health and
environment relation will be another subject to be addressed. While making healthy food choices pupils
will also contribute to the protection of their environment.
