Title 1 Book Swap
Kindergarten and preschool students participated
in the Title 1 Book Swap at Timberlane Learning
Center on Friday, February 6th. Students brought
in gently used books and earned a ticket for each
book they brought to share. Then they "shopped"
for books during the book swap event. Every student took home a book, regardless of whether they
were able to bring a book to swap, thanks to generous donations of gently used books to Timberlane
throughout the years. The students had a wonderful time selecting books to take home. Donations are always welcome. Please contact the
Timberlane kindergarten office at (937) 278-0689 if you would like to make a donation.

Cultivating Positive Choices at EDMS
The students at EDMS have been modeling and discussing ways to make positive
choices during difficult circumstances. Every day students are faced with a multitude of
both positive and negative decisions. The goal at EDMS is to help students develop
positive responses to these situations, which will ultimately create a positive school environment.
At the end of each 9 weeks, students that displayed these positive decision-making
skills were placed in a drawing to win a reward fieldtrip. This quarter's fieldtrip was to
the Vandalia Rec Center, which was again sponsored by the Montgomery Sherriff's office and Larry Lane with the S.T.A.R.S. (Students Taking A Real Stand) program. All
participants also received a certificate as gratitude for their positive choices.
