Frame Frenzy: Torn Frames Tutorial
Frame Frenzy: Torn Frames Tutorial
December 2008/January 2009
Kathie McGuire contributed and filmed this pretty technique. These frames look great with an image stamped inside them or with a
smaller layer of coordinating cardstock stamped and layered inside.
Supplies:
- Cardstock
- Paper Distressing Tool
Optional: Coordinating Ink Pad
Step One:
Determine the desired finished size of the frame, adding ¼" to
½" on all sides of the cardstock before trimming to size. Use the
distressing tool to distress all four edges of the cardstock, so
that the edges bend slightly when roughened.

Step Two:
Begin peeling the layers of the paper apart, peeling inward on
all sides ¼" to ½" from the edge.
Step Three:
For added interest, tear the edes of the layers randomly. Roll and
curl the edges of the top layer of the cardstock toward the center
to form a frame.
