Our tour shuttle will take those not participating in the OPUDA Conference to Gerdemann Botanic Reserve for an easy, yet informative
walk (gerdemanngarden.org) and then continue on to the Heceta Head Lighthouse/Interpretive Center/B&B (hecetalighthouse.
com) for a multi-faceted guided tour. In honor of the Yachats Mushroom Festival Oct. 21-23 (yachats.org/MFest2011.html), Author
and Chef Michelle Korgan Bursey will present a “Tips for Cooking with Mushrooms” demonstration and talk, and prepare a sevencourse lunch for participants in the Heceta Head Bed & Breakfast kitchen. The excursion shuttle will then head to Ocean Beaches
Glassblowing & Gallery (blownhotglass.com) to see Artist Bob Meyer create some of his award-winning glass art creations, including
newly-iconic glass floats and wall art.
Yachats Mushroom Festival immediately follows OPUDA Conference Friday!
If you like mushrooms, this is the event for you--from truffle hunting, speakers, authors, books on mushrooms, and slide shows, to
special restaurant menus, mushroom photography, workshops, exhibits, and mushroom walks. And the Adobe Resort has agreed to
extend special OPUDA rates through the weekend! Check out the fun at yachats.org/MFest2011.html

of the Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory at SRI International, working on the processing, properties, and analysis of coal,

energy and an avid electric car owner: “We’re going to quiet the world and make it a better place to breathe. Steering wheel by steering wheel,
we’re going to get it done. More electric power to us all, more solar and wind, certainly, more wave generation electric power, please.” His screen
credits also include “The Accidental Tourist”, “The Man with One Red Shoe”, “Creator”, “Harry’s War”, and “Magic”. Fans of the TV series
