MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD & HEAD OF SCHOOL
Dear Members of the Meyer Academy Community,
As we began to compose this letter we quickly realized that it is almost impossible
to believe that we are concluding our first year in our new campus. Aer more
than four years of journeying to this point, we are now officially veterans of our
new home.
Dr. David Lickstein
President
Nammie Ichilov
Head of School
Meyer Academy has provided our community with a more than four-decade
legacy of academic excellence built on a foundation of Jewish values. is
combination of a rich educational experience blended with the generations of
tradition, culture, and beliefs provides a unique experience like no other.
Our motto “Learn. Live. Lead.” epitomizes the three stages of every Meyer
Academy student’s journey. With learning being the core foundation of every
child’s educational experience, the Meyer Academy student’s experience doesn’t
stop there. e expectation that every child’s knowledge gained transitions to
personal wisdom, and ultimately to specific positive behaviors and outcomes, is
the ideal that we believe will guide every child into turning the lessons learned in
school into meaningful actions in their daily lives. Finally, with each child being
provided the tools to discover their individual passions, the opportunity to lead for
change is a natural next step for every Meyer Academy student and graduate.
Tikkun olam (“repairing the world”) is only a first step; leading others to join them
is the Meyer Academy difference-maker.
2014-2015 was a critical year in beginning this new chapter in our school’s history.
We are grateful to our dedicated trustees, loyal school professionals, supportive
families, generous donors, and most importantly, to our incredible students for all
coming together and helping to make this year such a positive and successful one.
ank you to our wonderful stakeholders who exemplify our familial relationships
and united commitment to continuing the pursuit for educational excellence. It
truly takes a community to achieve the success we desire.
Respectfully,
David Lickstein
President

MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT, FUNDRAISING
As Vice President of Fundraising, I would like to share with you the results of our
development efforts for 2014/15. rough our first year at the new Meyer
Academy campus, the annual campaign raised over $450,000. is number is a
significant increase over last school year and reflects the participation and
generosity from our trustees, parents, staff, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents,
local businesses and others who all contributed in meaningful ways. As was the
case last year, we received generous community support for the capital campaign
for the new building. Please see the inside back cover of this report for more
information on the successful Tomorrow Today Campaign.
Zachary Berg
Vice President, Fundraising
We would like to thank the Honor Roll list of donors on the following pages for
their contributions. Significant funds were raised from strong community

Boosterthon
Annual Gala
We would like to acknowledge all those who made Meyer Academy a
philanthropic priority this year. Every gi matters, and we are truly grateful for
your willingness to invest in our school. Your donations are a stepping stone to
help Meyer Academy achieve all of its goals. ank you.
Susan Lord was honored at Meyer Academy's annual luncheon for her
30 years of service and dedication to our school.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR OF THE PTO
2014-2015 PTO Year in Review
Melissa Berman
Interim PTO Chair
8
e PTO has concluded another successful year in thanks to the many volunteers
and their perseverance, optimism and a lot of hard work!
We started the 2014/2015 school year in our new building with the back to school
breakfast where friends and families were able to reconnect on our beautiful new
campus. Sign-ups began immediately for upcoming events and all chairs were
filled for the coming year. Our events and celebrations throughout the year were
successful.
• Rosh Hashanah Gi Bags: Ellen Berris coordinated the effort to deliver gi bags
to every student and staff member.
• Sukkot Under the Stars: Record attendance of 350 people and chaired by Jodi
Stahl & Melissa Wurtenberger.
• Fourth Annual Hanukkah Zimriyah/Songfest - Chaired by Betsy Cohen and
Jennifer Paley planned the event, which was attended by more than 800 people
and featured almost all students in the school.
• 2015 started with the Book Fair, which was chaired by Karen Berkner and
Stephanie Lippman. ey did a wonderful job organizing volunteers to fill all the
spots for the entire week.
• e PTO helped coordinate the students’ special Passover lunches.
• PTO organized the assembly and distribution of Mishloach Manot baskets to
all students and staff, and helped run the fun and festive school-wide Purim
carnival. ank you to chairs, Nancy Shulman, Jackie Brant, Ayelet Mullen and
Randee Schneider.
• Students celebrated during monthly birthday lunches with a song led by Tracie
Krieger.
• Square 1 Art was led by Lisa Weisberg and went off smoothly as always.
• In appreciation of our amazing faculty, the PTO and chairs Meryl Avni and
Abby Chapnick facilitated a week-long staff appreciation event in May.
• A special thanks to Gina Blatt for also heading a “holiday gelt” and end of the
year collection as a token of thanks for our faculty and staff.
• Pajamarama, chaired by Donna Feldman, Ayelet Mullen, and Andrea
Rosenberg, wraps up this incredible year.
In conclusion, although meetings could be better attended, those that do attend
are 100% committed to helping with all events and activities we have throughout
the year. ese are amazing people who I was honored to work with this year. I
would also like to thank all of the GLR (Grade Level Representatives) who go
above and beyond to get notice out when volunteers are needed in a hurry or
when events are coming up. ank you Jeremy Berg, Lissa Schwab, Barb
Francisco, Erika Simon, Barbara Barashick, Wendy Lesserson, and Nancy
Shulman. An extra special thanks to Susan Lord, our PTO staff liaison, for
EVERYTHING!

WHY GIVE?
You can make an immediate and meaningful difference for our students and dedicated
faculty who teach them!
You may wonder how your child will benefit when you make a charitable gi to Meyer
Academy. Our school is well known for academic excellence in a warm, nurturing Jewish
atmosphere. Both are supported not only by your tuition dollars but also by many
charitable contributions from our families, friends, our community, and the Jewish
Federation of Palm Beach County. Our small classes, talented teachers, resources,
technology, and offerings in the arts and athletics are all enhanced by contributions from
donors like you.
Your gi to the Annual Campaign – the school’s most important fundraising priority each
year – is necessary because tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating your child. In
fact, tuition covers approximately 80% of the cost. at is why independent schools need
endowments and fundraising. Since our school is a relatively small community, we rely on
our families to make our school their philanthropic priority.
HOW TO GIVE?
There are numerous ways you can make a 100% tax-deductible gift in
support of excellence at Meyer Academy. Every donation matters and is
greatly appreciated!
