Saturday January 14:
Fly to Chapelco Airport – Check in at Spring Lodge – Lunch Reception at the Lodge – Afternoon
Float at Chimehuin River – Welcome Dinner & Argentine Fine Wine Tasting at Spring Creek
At your arrival to San Martin de los Andes Local Airport (CPC) your guide will be waiting for you
to privately drive you to Spring Creek Lodge.
This lodge is located on the banks of the Chimehuin River near the town of Junín de los Andes
and is 40 minutes away from San Martin de los Andes. The lodge is very comfortable with great food and
service.
Spring Creek Lodge has six independent chalet units located around a group of lagoons
overlooking the Lanin Volcano. Each unit has two bedrooms and one full bathroom, large sitting area,
kitchen, and covered porch. Every angler will have his own private bedroom but will share a bath.
The meals will be served at the clubhouse and common meeting area, which is a large
comfortable dining room with a bar and sitting area.
After enjoying a welcome lunch reception, it will be time to break the ice with Argentine trout.
We will do a short float on the waters of famous Chimehuin River, waiting for the evening hatch. This
river is renowned for having some of the best mayflies hatches of the region. We will be targeting the
brown trout that live in these waters.
This evening when back at the lodge there will be an Argentine wine tasting. You will enjoy an
introduction to our wine regions and sample each area with a representative wine label. You will learn
some about our wines and the variety and richness of our vineyards. Afterwards the Chef will surprise
the group with one of his gourmet creations for dinner, of course accompanied by more of the best
wines of our country.

Sunday January 15
Alumine River Float Trip – Evening Tango Dancing Show at the Lodge
The Alumine River is a large size stream that runs from north to south in a deep canyon in the
foothills of the Andes. Today we will float a section of eight miles of this river looking for rainbows and
brown trout in a range of 18 to 20 inches. This section of the stream is ideal for those who enjoy trying
different techniques. There will be suitable water to sight fish for rising trout, drifting and searching until
we spot those rising fish. Then we will have time to slowly cover the riffles with hopper and droppers,
which can be very effective. For those who are enthusiastic about streamer fishing there will be the
chance to tempt some of the large brown trout with streamers.
Tonight when we are back at the Lodge we will be treated to a Tango Dancing Show. Local dancers
Marcos & Analia will surprise us with their abilities and magic of the tango, followed by another
delicious dinner.

Monday January 16
Lower Chimehuin River Float Trip
Today we will float the most productive and inaccessible section of Chimehuin River using our
exclusive private access. We will float a stretch of 12 miles of this river which is famous for the best
mayflies and caddis hatches of the region.
Dry fly fishing can be great all day long and we will target rainbows and browns in the range of
16 to 23 inches. We will return to the Lodge where the chef will be waiting for the group with another
tasty dinner ready.

Tuesday January 17
Walk & Wade the Upper Malleo River – Local Folk Music Band Performance at Spring Creek
Lodge
The Malleo River is famous as one of the best streams of Northern Patagonia for dry fly fishing.
This river is a medium size and is populated with rainbows and browns that average 16 to 20 inches, but
hides some trophy brown trout in every corner.
Your guide will carry lunch in a backpack while you enjoy a day walking with the amazing view of
Lanin volcano behind you all the time. We will fish a mix of small terrestrials and dry flies with some
good hoppers in the white water riffles and edges.
This evening after fishing, we will return to Spring Creek to enjoy another delicious dinner while
enjoy the private performance of Las Voces del Lanin. This Local Band will perform different style of
music from Argentina and South America.

Wednesday January 18
Lake Tromen Sight Fishing with Dries for Rainbows, Browns and Brook Trout – Dinner and
Second Argentine Fine Wine Tasting at the Lodge
This morning we will head northwest near the border with Chile and right on the base of Lanin
Volcano to spend the day fishing at Lake Tromen. This beautiful, natural lake of glacial origin is the
natural source of water for the Malleo River and is features pristine and crystal-clear waters. You will be
able to spot large rainbows, browns and even brook trout on the different shore structures, creating
sight fishing opportunities.
We will stop at a beautiful secluded beach for lunch where you will have the chance to catch
some trout from shore while enjoying a picnic and contemplating views of the Lanin Volcano.
This evening after we return to Spring Creek Lodge we will enjoy a second wine tasting, this
time focusing on discovering the other world class grapes that our country can produce on diverse
regions such as Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabert Sauvignon, Syrah, Tempranillo, etc. We will select four
different labels to walk you along the diverse regions of Argentina once again.

Thursday January 19
Lower Malleo Walk and Wade – Dinner at Spring Creek Lodge
This morning we will be heading for a walk and wade fishing session at the nearby Lower Malleo
River. You will experience multiple sight fishing opportunities to rising fish while targeting rainbows and
browns in a range of 15 to 22 inches. In the morning we will probably target trout with small dry flies
from a mayflies spinner fall event and then we will stop for lunch at one of the typical campgrounds of
the Indian Reservation of Lower Malleo River. This afternoon we will target these trout with a
hopper/dropper set up with chances of tempting some large browns on every pool. This section of the
river is very scenic and runs along a rocky canyon with very interesting formation which will gives
multiple photo ops during the day.

Friday January 20th
Collon Cura River Float Trip – Dinner at Spring Creek
This morning we will head to the nearby Collon Cura River to float a stretch of 7 miles of this
unique river. We will put in near the junction with Chimehuin River and float while targeting rainbows
and brown in the range of 15 to 20 inches. We will very provably have the opportunity to target some
trout with inch worms. In the afternoon we will continue to float down this stream combining fishing
with small dries and hopper-dropper setups.

Saturday January 21
Private transfer to Chapelco Airport – Fly Back to Buenos Aires and Then Back Home
This morning you will be privately driven to Chapelco Airport to catch your return flight to
Buenos Aires and then back home.
