jasper welcomes the tour of alberta
Jasper is host to a new leg of the race
with two mountain top finishes. This will
mark a historic first for the Tour of Alberta
presented by ATB Financial.
In Go Auto Stage 3, the race will make
its way from Grande Cache, ultimately
finishing at Miette Hot Springs in Jasper
National Park. Stage 4 race will take place in
Jasper, beginning in the town and finishing
on top of Marmot Basin ski resort. With the
support of Parks Canada, the race within
Jasper National Park will be the site of the
Tour of Alberta's most challenging King of
the Mountain (KOM) competition to date.
Many of the riders have just completed
the Tour de France, the World Tour’s most
prestigious 21-day stage race covering
over 3,500 km.
There will be two festival locations in
Jasper, one at the Parks information centre
and one at Marmot Basin Ski Area. Event
goers can enjoy music, food vendors, kids
activities and a beer tent. There will be a
giant Jumbotron at each festival to view the
finishes on the giant screen.
