Legendary
Children
The Hudson Family Foundation Legends Award will focus on building
self-esteem, pride, and hope in school-age children who are battling to overcome
debilitating challenges in their lives that could include death of a family member,
terminal illness, military deployment, and economic hardship.
Teachers and guidance counselors from participating elementary schools will
identify students who meet the criteria for consideration for the Legends Award at
their schools. These students will be invited to attend an assembly at their school
that will take place prior to the 2016 Thanksgiving break. At this assembly, the
winners will receive a beautiful Legends Award Certificate acknowledging their
accomplishments and a Legends Award Champion’s Box. Inside each box will be
a complete Thanksgiving Feast that will feed 10-12 family members provided by
Publix Supermarket including a 16lb turkey, Pepperidge Farm stuffing, canned
green beans, Bruce Cut sweet potatoes, bakery dinner rolls, sweat tea, cranberry
sauce, and pumpkin pie.

Dear Friends,
Community service has been an important part of our lives since we began our 17 year journey in
professional baseball in 1999. Over the years, we have been given many opportunities to work alongside
several wonderful charitable organizations. We have been fortunate to meet and positively impact many
amazing children and their families whom we will forever remember.
From the beginning, God placed on our hearts the passion for
children in need, in varying degrees, levels, and circumstances. We
were so grateful for the opportunities we were given, but we knew
we were ready to make a bigger personal commitment. We believed
strongly that the more God gives, the more He requires; and the
more He requires, the more He gives. In 2009 we established the
Hudson Family Foundation.
Our Foundation’s mission is clear and unwavering: to make a positive and long lasting impact in the lives of children who have a
genuine need for assistance with regard to a specific physical, emotional or financial circumstance. From the infancy of our
Foundation to this moment, we have been truly blessed to have been joined by people who
believe in our mission and share our passion. Together, as one strong family, we have helped
countless families deal with devastating circumstances and loss.
Our professional baseball life is now over, and we are so excited to be home and begin the
next exciting chapter of our lives, focusing on our family and the Hudson Family Foundation.
There is a simple component that all successful organizations share: the true understanding,
implementation, and execution of “Teamwork”. From
the inception of the Foundation, our goal has been to
create an organization that requires individual people of all walks of life to come together as
one and possess the vision and heart to impact the lives of children, families, and individuals
who are facing overwhelming challenges and need our support and love. Much great work
has been done, but there will always be those who need us. Thank you for helping us to help
others.
