O Scale GE Dash 8-40CW Locomotive
As an EXCLUSIVE for Golden Spike Club members, we
are happy to offer the new Dash 8-40CW painted in the
CSX “Spirit of America!” colors. In 1992, George Bush campaigned the Midwest and South using a special train on both
CSX and Norfolk Southern. CSX repainted Dash 8 #7812 in
a special blue and yellow scheme that was adorned with the
presidential seal, stars and an American Flag. Renumbered
1992 and carrying the by-line “The Spirit of America”, this
unit kept the colors even after this special assignment was
completed.
This TRAINMAN locomotive will be offered in 4
operating configurations:

ATLAS O GE Dash 8-40CW Locomotive
The GE Dash 8-40CW kicked off what many observers call
the third generation of the diesel electric locomotives because
of the use of microprocessor-controlled fuel delivery, cooling,
tractive / braking effort and diagnostics to make this locomotive more efficient in areas of fuel economy, emissions and
safety. The Dash-8 established GE as the number one U.S.
locomotive builder, a goal that GE was aiming for since the
U25B was introduced in 1962.
