Master Guide for creating Dora the Explorer plush. This guide will show you how to make every Dora plush
simply aDORAble! It’s easy to follow (like a Map) and provides everything you need to create a consistent and
fantastic plush look for everyone’s favorite preschool explorer.

Nickelodeon welcomes creativity in fabric choices, but be mindful that all fabrics
behave differently! We know, too, that different pile heights and different stretch
ability might require slight pattern adjustments to fit your needs. This can be
addressed in the approval process. Keep in mind that all fabric choices must
meet industry standards for safety!

¡El Cuerpo! The Body!
The shoulders should
slope slightly downward.
The back should curve slightly,
giving a nice seat.
The arms should taper
towards the wrists.
Dora’s body should
bell out towards the
bottom.
She has 4 fingers
and a thumb. Hand
loop stitches to define
fingers!
Dora’s bracelet has
circular beads and one
flower. The flower has
6 beads and one center
bead. It is always on the
right wrist.
Dora’s body should be filled with
Poly-Fil Fiberfill stuffing.
-Body fill with 60k
-Each leg fill with 10k
-Each arm fill with 5k
Add the shoe laces
with white satin
ribbons, silk-screen
or embroidery.
Shoes taper
downward toward
the toes. The socks
have a scalloped
edge.

< H air's What to Do!
There is a specific sewing sequence when sewing Dora’s head. This can be found directly on the
patterns. Download from www.nicksource.com
When using Bang
pattern Version B,
the bangs should
be gathered for
more volume.
The hair shape
should curve
outward slightly
towards the
bottom.
Gather
Dora’s hair should have 2 soft
peaks on the top of the head.
The right side is higher than
the left. The hair should be
parted on the left-hand side.
The bangs should have 2 slits
above the eyes. The bangs
also curve downward towards
the sides of Dora’s face.
The bottom edge of Dora’s
hair curves up slightly.
Do not stitch down the bottom inch
of the bangs. The ends of the bangs
should be loose.

To retain the shape of
the hair, add this side
panel pattern piece.
1/2” thick batting is stitched into the
seam of the front face panel. This gives
structure to the chin.
