Prepare Your Home
For Counter Top
Templating & Installation:
Get Materials Ready
Cabinets must be plumb, level and secured to
the walls and/or floor prior to the date countertops are scheduled to be field templated.
Cabinets that will rest on top of the countertop
cannot be installed until after the installation of
the countertop. Sinks, faucets and appliances
must be on the job site prior to the date of field
template. Changes in specifications will not be
accepted after field template is complete.
Remove Loose Items
Sink & exposed base cabinets must be cleaned
out completely. Take down curtains, and any
items off the wall. Move throw rugs, plants and
pet dishes to another area during construction.

While your kitchen is out of service,
order take-out or set up a temporary
food preparation area in another room
with a microwave oven.
Be A Good Neighbor
Tell your neighbors there will be workmen coming and going from your
home. It’s nice to give them some
advance notice of the extra noise that
may occur. Especially in warm weather when windows are open.
Final Wall Preparation
Be Patient!
(Painting, wall papering, etc.) should not be
completed prior to template & installation if at
all possible. Care will be exercised during the
countertop installation; however, scrapes, punctures or digs to wall surfaces are possible.
These items are considered incidental damage
and are the customer’s responsibility to repair.
Any home improvement takes time.
Just remember that your new kitchen
will be finished soon and any temporary inconvenience will be quickly
forgotten.

Why a Template
is Done
•
To insure proper fit of your
new counter top.
•
Reduces gaps and voids
between the new top and the
walls, though some minor gaps
may be unavoidable.
How is This Done?
•
It is best to have existing tops
removed.
•
Using our Digital Template System,
we capture key points from walls
and cabinets.
•
The digital template is saved to
computer and used to produce to
counter tops.
•
•
Gives a tighter more professional
look to your new kitchen.
No.
• This should be determined when
the tops are measured. If walls
are wavey or out of square.
•
Not just older homes can be
affected by this. Close inspection of the construction of the
kitchen walls should be looked
at on every order.
•
Yes.
•
It will take slightly longer to fabricate the tops, but the wait is
well worth it. Resulting in a custom fit counter top.
In some cases it may be necessary
to make hard templates out of
particleboard.
