Summer kicked off to a sexy start as 97.9’s latest Loop Girl
tapped our keg of Dark Wheat beer. It seemed only fitting
that an All-American girl welcomed the All-German flavor
of our coco-inspired brew. Fans of beer and classic rock
alike gathered in our “Schwemme” to help Shannon get
into the swing of things; a couple of taps was all it took to
pour on the fun. Steins were filled to the brim with the
distinct Dark Wheat brew—it is safe to say there wasn’t
a dry mouth in the Haus. Thanks to Shannon for helping
us usher in a season of excitement. Rock on!

THE FLAVOR
OF SUMMER
Summer is here, and what better way to shed light on the season than with an ice cold
stein of Dark Wheat beer (Dunkelweizen) from Hofbräuhaus Chicago? This popular brew
is ready to show off its unique body of flavor to Chicago for the first time.
How does it get its distinct taste? This one-of-a-kind beer is fermented similarly to light
beer which starts at 68° Fahrenheit and rises to 73.4°. Wheat beer is then stored at 37.4°
for about one week, but in a way as unique as its flavor—upside down in the kegs until
just before tapping time. Due to the natural sedimentation, the yeast settles on the bottom
of the keg; turning it right before tapping redistributes the yeast. The beer is bottled
unfiltered and natural, with nothing added to ensure quality, freshness and unbeatable
taste. But just like summer, Dark Wheat won’t be here for long so grab a stein today!

America may have talent, but Hofbräuhaus
Chicago has the flavor. This May, America’s Got
Talent held their Chicago auditions at the Rosemont
Theater. To celebrate, the three celebrity judges,
Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B, and the rest
of the AGT team treated themselves to a Bavarian
feast in our very own beer hall. It seemed as if the
antics from the show continued in our "Schwemme"
as Heidi rivaled the band with her yodeling while
playing the bells and Howie got spanked not once,
but twice! Steins were swinging, and the fun lasted
well into the night.
