Standalone Hologram-stamping unit and Laser-marking machine
This machine is capable to make all safety futures into licence plates such as;
• Hologram logos
(single or multiple action up to 16 positions per plate)
• Laser registration numbers
• Laser graphics
(single or multiple action up to 16 positions per plate)
• 30º Ensure logo
(single or multiple action up to 16 positions per plate)
Because of the modular setup and the various adjustment possibilities this unit is extreme flexible for
finishing safety issues onto all common licence plates dimensions and is a perfect completion to the Crest
automatic licence plate production line GLPA2000Plus. Digital readouts on the mechanical adjustment
positions ensures an easy recalling from the positions by the different plate dimensions.
This unit is suitable to produce Hologram, laser and laser-ensure marks- and graphics onto licence plates.
The machine works fully automatic and pile of plates can be added and removed during operation. The unit
can easy adjusted to all standard plate dimensions by turning hand wheels. The settings from this unit can
be done by a colour touch screen panel and the positioning parameters for the hologram and laser unit can
be stored as a file belonging to a specific plate type. Several servo systems ensure a high-speed and
accurate positioning. The complete unit is controlled by a high-end PLC with a touch screen Human
Machine Interface (HMI)
The unit contains 4 main parts;
• Storage belt for pile of plates with fast acting pick and place unit
• Hologram hot stamping unit
• Laser marking unit
• Stacking unit with storage belt for storage piles of finished plates
Storage belt for pile of plates with fast acting pick and place unit
On this belt you can stack multiple piles of stacked plates up to 50 plates per pile. This belt moves
the plates automatic forwards to the pick and place unit which feeds the plates one by one into the
plate transport belt. The distance between the transport belts can easy be adjusted by hand wheel
for other plate lengths. The belt can contain 10 piles of 50 stacked plates from 520mm x 112mm.
Hologram hot stamping unit
This hologram unit is especially developed by Crest for hot stamping Hologram logos onto licence
plates. Compared to the existing units on the market, this Crest Hologram unit has high cycle speed
and maximum adjustment possibilities to the various dimensions of licence plates-, and hologram
dimensions. The servo controlled transport from the plate ensures an accurate and fast positioning
underneath the hologram unit.
The unit can operate in an automated offline unit or integrated in the Crest graphical licence plate
production-line GLPA2000Plus. The Hologram unit can easily build out of the automated line and
moved over to the licence plate production line. This gives maximum flexibility to use the hologram
unit in-line or off-line for different applications.
Features Hologram unit;
• Special developed for hologram stamping on licence plates
• Max stamping dimensions 60mm x 220mm
• Production capacity 45 – 50 plates per minute
• Air buffer for continues supply of air volume
• One inch (25,4mm) Auto-grip shaft for easy setup roll of foil
• Adjustable unwind brake and windup tension for hologram foil
• Hologram foil transport direction from right to left or left to right for max. freedom of foil execution
• Thermal isolated heating plate for energy saving and safety, heating power 1500W
• Adjustable press force
• Adjustable press height
• Adjustable press time
• Adjustable temperature setting controlled by digital PID controller
• Adjustable bottom table for easy mechanical correction against stamping tool
• Digital operating panel for adjusting settings
• Hologram Foil positioning by servo motor on length or tic-mark detected by sensor
• Flexible adjusting of stamping tool according plate position and foil position
• Automatic position correction according Graphic logo by servo for in-line operation (optional)
• Hologram unit in stable C-frame length 1200mm depth 90mm
• Hologram unit movable by hand-wheel on sliding rail for setting position according plate position
• Safety cover with gas-spring for safe operation
• Two hand buttons for manual operation
• PLC controlled with interface for external control
• Numeric LCD display for changing settings
• The hologram unit can be integrated in a licence plate production line, or integrated in with a
automatic handlings unit with laser marking unit or as standalone.
Laser marking unit;
This laser unit is especially selected for the application of laser-marking from licence-plates.
This Laser-unit is the newest generation of laser markers utilises an enhancement of YAG
technology called FAYb with Fibre Amplified Ytterbium Laser Technology. The advantage of
YAG laser technology is that the risk of foil damage is significant less then with a (cheaper) CO2
laser. The plates can be marked in the fly or stationary with a fast acting and accurate servo
controlled plate transport system with high speed. The laser head is complete surrounded by a
closed casing for safety and to have maximum flexibility to adjust the laser-head in the needed
position. The position of the laser-head is easy adjustable in al directions with a digital readout
for easy recalling positions for the different plate sizes. Two doors at the front and rear provides
a good access to the laser-head.
Features Laser unit
•
Laser-unit with the newest generation of laser markers utilises an enhancement of YAG
technology called FAYb with Fibre Amplified Ytterbium Laser Technology
•
These fibre lasers provide several advantages over traditional Nd:YAG systems, such as a
better marking quality (laser beam diameter 60µm), smaller housing dimensions, a significantly
longer lifetime of more than 60,000 hours and lower fixed costs because FAYb systems
consume much less Power (390VA) and get simple air cooling.
•
Due to their average output of 12W (compared to 50W of a YAG laser), these Laser Markers
can mark nearly all materials.
•
•
The Laser-unit comes equipped with an encoder interface to mark moving objects, e.g. objects
on an assembly line. Other standard features include a code function (Data Matrix, various bar
codes, etc.) and standard functions such as counters, expiry date and lot number generation.
Static marking range 160x160mm
•
Possibility to place the laser-writing-head under a 30º angle for Ensure safety marks.
•
Red simulating marking-and max. writing area laser ideal for position adjusting laser and for
making plate samples in manual mode

Stacking unit with storage belt for storage piles of finished plates
After the plate is finished in the laser the plates will be transported to a stacker who makes piles from for
example 50 plates. The amount of stacked plates can be programmed. After reaching the programmed
amount of plates in a pile the transport belt will move this pile beside to make room for a new pile. If the
storage band is full of piles with stacked plates the machine will automatic stop. The distance between the
transport belts can easy be adjusted by hand wheel for other plate lengths. The belt can contain 10 piles of
50 stacked plates from 520mm x 112mm.
