Cavalli Turbo Inc. has partnered with Comp Turbo Techonologies
Inc. to bring their patented Triplex Ceramic Ball Bearing (CT3B)
bearing system to the OEM Turbo Replacement/Upgrade market.
We also utilize their lightweight 7/14 CT X-HF Billet Compressor
Wheel and Billet Bearing Housings.
Cavalli Turbo Inc. identifies a vehicle that would benefit from our
Direct Drop-In Replacement Billet CT3B turbo based on the
vehicles current drivetrain and overall potential.
We design the compressor, turbine and bearing housing,
compressor wheel and turbine for each new vehicle in-house at
the Pomona, California manufacturing facility of Comp Turbo.
Every one of our OEM Drop-in Turbos, Aftermarket Replacement Turbos (to replace an existing Garrett
or Precision turbo for instance) and our custom turbo builds benefit from the patented technology of
Comp Turbo. They also benefit from a turbo that is built in the USA and is comprised of the highest
quality components on the market. We even include a Turbosmart IWG actuator on our OEM Drop-in
turbo. Our turbos are balanced with a Schenck balancer before they are shipped to ensure perfect
operation for years to come. We even back our OEM Drop-in turbo with an 18 month limited warranty.

The TRIPLEX CERAMIC™ bearing system is a proprietary design that is unique in the industry. It utilizes full
compliment, angular contact ball bearings with ceramic balls. Compared with steel balls, ceramic balls in ball
bearings have a number of advantages. Bearing service life is two to five times longer. They run at lower
operating temperatures and allow running speeds to be as much as 50% higher. The surface finish of ceramic
balls is practically smooth, producing lower friction losses and lower vibration levels. There is less heat buildup
during high speed operation, they exhibit reduced ball skidding and have a longer fatigue life. All of these
characteristics make ceramic ball bearings ideal for use in turbochargers where they must operate at very
high speeds and survive in a high temperature environment. The full compliment bearings use a cage to
position the balls and this additional feature, combined with the ceramic material provides a combination
that has minimal friction losses. The mechanical efficiency of the TRIPLEX CERAMIC™ turbo can approach
99%, and this contributes to rotor acceleration rates that have been shown to be faster than competition.
In street applications, the acceleration rate of a vehicle equipped with a TRIPLEX CERAMIC™ turbocharger is
enhanced and moves the engine into its efficient operating range more rapidly. An improvement in the
number of gallons of fuel used is the usual result when a vehicle is accelerated faster. Under steady-state
operation, the lower HP losses in the TRIPLEX CERAMIC™ ball bearing system means power is available to the
turbocharger compressor which results in higher intake manifold pressure. In most cases, higher boost can
make an additional contribution to improving engine fuel consumption.
Cavalli Turbo turbochargers use a ball bearing system that does not need a separate thrust bearing since
the ball bearings carry both the radial load and the axial thrust loads. Cavalli Turbo turbochargers accelerate
much faster than conventional turbochargers that use sleeve bearing systems.
In the proprietary Cavalli Turbo ball bearing system, the angular contact bearings are mounted in an elongated
steel cylinder that is free to rotate in the bearing housing. The outside diameter of the cylinder is fed with lube
oil and this outer oil film provides a cushion against shock and vibration. Two angular contact bearings are
mounted in tandem on the compressor end of the cylinder in an arrangement that carries rotor thrust in both
axial directions. A single angular contact bearing is mounted under pre-load on the turbine end of the cylinder
and is free to move axially with shaft elongation when heat is conducted down the shaft from the hot turbine
wheel. The elongated steel cylinder containing the angular contact bearings represents the complete bearing
system and can be inserted and/or removed as an assembly, making the Cavalli Turbo turbocharger
fully serviceable and rebuildable.

We are now stocking our upgrades for the following factory turbos with our 7/14 Billet Compressor
wheel upgrades and in some cases a turbine wheel upgrade as well. We completely rebuild these
units using the highest quality components available and VSR balance the units. Core charges are
included in most pricing and a core fee will be credited if you choose to send us your seasoned
turbo in upgradeable condition. We will generally have these units built and on the shelf ready for
shipment.
A Billet compressor wheel upgrade will provide more air flow for better performance and a quicker
spool as our billet compressor wheels are lighter than he stock cast wheels. We even offer the
opportunity for you to purchase an extended warranty for 12 additional months coverage.
