and community members there to help cheer for the
students that have done so well.

Prep Enrolments 2017
You are able to enrol your child in Prep for 2017 if they
are born between 1st July 2011 and the 30th June 2012.
This ensures that children attending Prep turn 5 by
June 30 in the year they enrol.
To secure your spot in Prep at One Mile State School
please come and enrol as soon as possible.
School Opinion Survey
Thank you to the parents who completed the online
school opinion survey. Unfortunately we only had 24
parents complete the survey.
The school will receive results next term. Ms Eastwood
and I also completed the surveys with 120 Year 5 and 6
Students and we also had 36 staff surveys completed.

School Banking
Tuckshop hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays,
Thursdays and Fridays from 8.30am – 1.30pm.
Hi My Banking Buddies
Please note: Milo cups and fried rice are no longer
available.
Thursday is banking day of each school week. If you
forget your book on Thursday, bring your book in on
Friday and I will bank it for you.
Students who make three or more School Banking
deposits this term will automatically be entered into
the Prize Lights competition for the chance to win one
of the Star Saver prizes which are: 90 x Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Cameras plus Mini
Film (10 pack)
 50 x Camping Kits including headlamp, Bluetooth
speaker and sleeping bag
 200 x 12 month subscriptions Total Girl or K-Zone
Magazines
You also have an extra chance of winning a
PlayStation 4 just by going online and doing the
activities: www.commbank.com.au/prizelights
I will be holding another colouring-in competition in
term 4. This one will be for everyone from Prep to
Year 6 who regularly banks.
If by any chance I forget to take your deposit slip out of
your book (I apologise now), could you please send
your book back the next day? Your money still goes
into the bank and I will fix your deposit up straight
away, or leave in till the following week and I will do
double deposits for you.
If you have younger brothers or sisters who have not
yet started school, they are still able to participate in
the school banking program (and collect tokens and
claim rewards) by placing their deposit book in their
sibling’s class banking bag (it is recommended that you
attach the books together using a rubber band for ease
of return).
After you have handed your reward coupon in, allow
up to 2 weeks for your rewards to arrive as they come
from head office through the post. Don’t forget about
the great competition for 2016, by making 15 deposits
you go into the draw to go to Australia Zoo.

School Banking Co-Ordinator
The Reading Zone
The Reading Zone is held each Wednesday, 3.003.30pm at the library for all those students who would
like to come and read in a relaxed and friendly
environment. Students will need to bring their own
book. Some of this time will also be spent engaging in
activities related to books: book reviews, exciting
paragraphs, interesting words, and the invention of
our own crazy stories.
Mr. Clifford
