Specialty Camps
Summer Camp at The Pavilion at BeanTree will afford campers the opportunity to enroll in week-long specialty
camps throughout the summer. Specialty Camps will operate from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Before and/or
After Camp Option. Lunch and snacks are included. Before Camp (6:30-9:00 a.m.) tuition is $95/week and After
Camp (3:00-7:00 p.m.) tuition is $140/week. Camps will be divided by age groups depending on enrollment for
each session.
Basketball Camp
The Pavilion brings you the best of basketball in Loudoun
County with renowned coach Wendell Byrd. The former South
Lakes High School boys’ basketball head coach will lead our
basketball camps this summer. Coach Byrd’s winning record
speaks for itself with a career 440 wins, 12 district titles, and
six regional titles during his tenure. Coach Byrd mentored and
coached basketball greats such as NBA star Grant Hill, and he’s
ready to coach you! Joining Coach Byrd at The Pavilion are topnotch assistant coaches to help campers master the basic skills
of basketball including passing, dribbling, and shooting, as well
as sportsmanship. Daily 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 competitions will
provide opportunity for campers to practice and fine-tune their
skills.

Sports and Games
Why enjoy just one sport this summer when you can have fun
with several of them and improve your skills at each one? Experience new challenges in various team sports from basketball to
soccer. Engage in the lighter fun of dodge ball. Exercise your
upper body in a fast-paced game of table tennis, and then settle
in for a challenging chess match. This is no ordinary Sports and
Games camp. Our program will test the limits of every camper,
both physically and mentally.

Gaming
Are you a young engineer? Test your knowledge and wit by
learning a range of design and programming capabilities. We will
utilize our computer science lab to create fun robotic inventions,
go over basic gaming programming, and mechanics of the computer system. Professional programmers will be on hand to aid in
your child’s design, but ultimately your child will create, conceptualize and design a spectacular invention. Let the games begin!

Volleyball
Volleyball is quickly becoming one of the area’s most popular
sports! With demand for court space at an all-time high, we
are proud to offer athletes our state-of-the-art regulation gymnasium to hone their skills and learn the basic fundamentals of
this great team sport. You’ll work alongside professional staff
members who will teach how the game is played, demonstrate
basic skills, and test your fortitude. Learn proper techniques
of the game and sportsmanship while having fun as you set,
spike, bump, and block!

Extreme Cuisine
Tantalize your taste buds with culinary creations you make
yourself with the help of some of the best culinary teachers
and chefs in the area. With expansive menu options sure to
please even the pickiest of eaters, campers will explore how
to create a variety of menu options that span the globe while
learning about varying cultures’ finest cuisines. From recipes of faraway countries to sweet delights, healthy farmers’
market favorites and more, campers will learn how to create
delicious dishes without boundaries; where their imaginations
can run free.

Digital Photography
The best summer memories are meant to be treasured forever,
and this course will provide the fundamentals for uncovering
the photographer within. Taught by professional photographic
artist Shelly Stavinga, campers will learn the basics of digital
photography, how to professionally enhance a photographic
creation, and how to matte your photo for placement in our
Pavilion Gallery. Ms. Stavinga has a BFA in Photography from
Arcadia University and is also a photographer for Lifetouch.

Amazing Art
Budding artists will explore various mediums, methods, and
settings to create their own unique works of art. They’ll gain
new perspective by viewing art from different angles around us
– from the streets to the galleries and from the great outdoors
to the classroom. Through our exploration, we will conquer the
fundamentals of the arts and enhance each of our own artistic
talents along the way. Led by professional artist and art teacher
Andrea Damiano, we will learn about art expression through
landscape paintings as well as large-scale murals. Ms. Damiano considers art to be an integral part of life and the vehicle
through which students can find inspiration, self-expression,
and foster positive well-being.

Drama 101
Are you destined for the bright lights of Broadway? Or do you
just crave an outlet for the actor within you? Join the cast and
crew of our theater troupe offering campers an opportunity to
showcase their flair and dramatic passion for the arts. You’ll
learn short programs throughout the day, leading to fun and
exciting individual and troupe improvisational performances.

Cost: $280/week (Monday-Thursday)
Drama Production
It’s “Lights! Camera! Action!” at The Pavilion, where it may feel
more like Disney World! This summer, campers will experience
first-hand musical numbers set to Disney’s Finding Nemo and
have the chance to participate in the creation of a real-life production of The Wizard of Oz. Our Drama Production program
will be led by MarKeith Scott, the Director, Choreographer and
CEO of Image Studios Theatrical Company. As a theater major, Mr. Scott brings his decades of experience in theater and
production learned from years working at Walt Disney World,
Mickey’s Magical Christmas, Six Flags theme parks, and
spectacular local productions in Northern Virginia. Frequently
featured in the Washington Post and Washington Gazette for
his theatrical accomplishments, Mr. Scott lives by the quote
of the late, great Walt Disney, who said, “All our dreams can
come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”

Music
Increase your knowledge of instrumentation and performance
by learning, or advancing, your musicianship though private
lessons taught by professionals at the Pavilion. We will offer
private music lessons in strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. As you continue your musical growth, we will offer a
weeklong camp, where we will pair students of equal talent, to
create small ensembles. During the camp, students will learn
how to perform musical works as a team, hone their skills,
and learn new techniques. We will end the week with a lovely
recital celebrating all our students’ accomplishments.

Linguistics
Are you ready to learn a new language? Maybe you just want
to enhance your current language knowledge? The Pavilion’s
team of professional and skilled linguistic teachers offers
private lessons in languages from China, India, and South

Adventure Camp
The Pavilion at BeanTree’s traditional Summer Camp Program has been a favorite of campers and their families for
many years. With five field trips most weeks and art and cooking projects throughout the week, our traditional camp
offers parents the flexibility of scheduling on a week-by-week basis, all-inclusive tuition rates, and a variety of field
trips and activities designed to hold campers’ interest throughout the summer months. Adventure Camp tuition is
$550/week ($420 for Monday/Wednesday/Friday and $360 for Tuesday/Thursday).

Pavilion Summer Camp Important Information Sheet
Please read the following information carefully. By submitting a Registration Form, you acknowledge
that you have read these policies and agree to abide by them.
1. Registration for Summer Camp is available on a first
come, first served basis, with priority consideration for
current Pavilion and BeanTree Families. There is no
deadline for registration.
2. To reserve your child’s space, complete the Registration Form and return it to the Front Desk, along with
a deposit of $100 for each week of enrollment. If your
child is not currently enrolled as a Beyond the Bell! or
Holiday Camp student, or if your child did not attend
Summer Camp last summer, a Registration Fee of $125
is also due at the time of registration. Only checks will
be accepted for deposit payments. Checks may be
made payable to BeanTree Learning. Please include
your child’s name on the check. You will receive a confirmation email within two weeks (14 business days) of
our receipt of your Registration Form.
3. Payment for all confirmed weeks of camp enrollment
is due in full by 7:00 p.m. on April 30, 2015. Changes to
your child’s enrollment can be made at any point prior
to this time with no penalty. From May 1 – 31, 2015,
cancellation of any weeks of enrollment will incur a 50%
Cancellation Fee. Beginning June 1, 2015, no refunds
will be issued for cancellations. At any point, you may
choose to switch weeks with no penalty if there is availability. Registrations received beginning May 1, 2015,
must be accompanied by full payment.
6. Children enrolled in Adventure Camp should arrive no
earlier than 6:30 a.m. and must be picked up no later
than 7:00 p.m. On-campus specialty camps are from
9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day. Drop-off for specialty camps is from 8:45 – 9:00 a.m. and pick-up is from
3:00 – 3:15 p.m. If your child needs care before 8:45
a.m. or after 3:15 p.m., please enroll him/her in Before
or After Camp, which is available beginning at 6:30 a.m.
and ending at 7:00 p.m.
7. If your child is enrolled in Adventure Camp, all food is
included in your tuition. This includes breakfast, lunch,
and three snacks per day. Snacks and lunches are
provided for specialty camp students; however, breakfast for specialty campers is only provided for those
students enrolled in the Before Camp Program.
8. Please label all clothing and other personal items with
your child’s name to insure complete identification of all
items. Please do not allow your child to bring anything
of value, such as jewelry or large amounts of money.
BeanTree Learning is not responsible for any lost items.
9. A Pavilion at BeanTree Summer Camp shirt is required for each camper attending a field trip. Children
not dressed in a Summer Camp shirt when it is required
will be provided one and the cost will be added to your
Pavilion at BeanTree statement.
4. A completed Pavilion Enrollment packet, including
an updated health form, immunization record, and other
important enrollment information must be completed
in order for your child to attend. If your child is not
currently enrolled at The Pavilion or BeanTree Learning,
a Pavilion Registration Form is required in addition to a
Summer Camp Registration Form.
10. The Pavilion at BeanTree reserves the right to cancel any program if unforeseen circumstances occur. All
money will be refunded on a prorated basis.
5. Each camper is insured under a full accident insurance policy. Any accident which occurs while participating in a scheduled, sponsored, and supervised camp
activity will be covered. The coverage pays the expenses incurred which are in excess of those benefits paid or
payable by another plan, providing benefits to the policy
maximum.
12. The Pavilion at BeanTree is completely nut-free.
Please do not bring items with nuts or nut by-products
into our school at any time. This is to create the safest
environment possible for children with life-threatening
allergies to nuts.
11. The Pavilion at BeanTree reserves the right to use
pictures of your child involved in camp activities for
marketing purposes.
