We have added a yearbook signing party and extended the
deadline to order a yearbook to April 3rd.

ticket sales flyer in the forms section and turning it in
to your teacher.

The Middle School Sports Banquet will be held on April 30th at 7pm in the school
cafeteria and will be catered by Lee Roy Selmon’s. There will be a $10 per plate
charge on EZ Pay.
All of the HAMS Middle School sport participants and their families are invited to
attend.

PTSO Elections will be held on April 23rd. If
you would like to run for a board position,
please send in a brief bio that will be
attached to the ballot.
There will be a Yearbook
Signing Party the last
week in June. Students
will listen to music and
have snacks while they
have time to hangout
with their friends and
sign their yearbooks.
According to the bylaws only PTSO members
will be able to vote at the meeting. Members
must be “in good standing” meaning they
can not have missed 2 meetings in a row.
Students must have
purchased a yearbook to
attend. The last day to
purchase a yearbook is
April 3rd.

Teacher’s “Gift of Time”
Teachers are donating to the auction
too! They are donating a “Gift of
Time” to the auction. The gifts are fun
experiences that the kids can have
with their teachers either after school
or during lunch. There will be a “Gift
of Time” wall at the Silent Auction so
you can bid on the
experience.
Here are some experiences:
Ms. Rees and Stockowski are both
auctioning Painting with a Twist for a
student and a friend;
Ms. Cali and her dog, Gia, will have
lunch with a student and a friend;
Coach Cooney will take 3 students
to a Storm game;
Or a student can be the Principal
or Vice Principal for the day!

The Silent Auction Raffle
items include a flat
screen TV, a wine basket and a Google
Android tablet! Raffle tickets are $5
each and can be purchased the night of the
auction. There is also a 50/50 raffle with
tickets costing $1 that will be sold at the
auction.

up to middle school at HAMS and have
questions, Dr. Cullen will have a Middle School
Night on April 23rd following the PTSO
meeting (approximately 6:30) until 7:30pm.

The deadline is quickly approaching! Don’t let your
kids come home upset when yearbooks are
delivered and they did not get one. The books have
great pictures and memories that the kids love!

Announcements

The last day to buy Silent Auction tickets is April 6th. The event is April 10th.

5th Grade “Move Up Day” (daytime) and 8th Grade Graduation (6pm) are June 4th!
Make sure you buy a yearbook by April 1st for your graduating student!

Lost and Found: Have your children check for their stuff! Items that have been there
longer than a month will be donated. Lunch boxes are located in the cafeteria, valuable or small items (head bands, etc.) are at the front desk, and coats, sweaters, pants,
etc. are in front of the Media Center. There are 2 sets of car keys at the front office.

Yearbook Signing Even is scheduled for the last week in June. You must purchase a
yearbook to attend.. Last day to buy a yearbook is April 3rd.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4th—Math 8th.
Upcoming Field Trips:

2nd grade field trip to Clearwater Marine Aquarium on April 23. Deadline to pay on
EZ pay is April 3rd.

4th grade Florida Aquarium and Dolphin Cruise Field Trip is April 24th. The cost is
$31 on Ezpay.

5th grade manatee trip is May 1. The cost of the trip has been covered, but permission slips need to be turned in by April 24th.

5th grade Sea World trip is May 29th. All permission slips and EZ pay payments
are due May 24th. If you plan to sign your child out at the end of the Sea World trip
to stay in Orlando, you must write this on the permission slip prior to the trip and
sign out with Ms. Szczepspanski once the field trip is over.

7th grade field trip to Kennedy Space Center on May 6th. Please return permission
slips by April 8th.

8th grade Holocaust Museum Field Trip is April 22nd. The cost is $17 on Ezpay.

the teachers volunteering at the event.
We are so appreciative of our teacher

volunteer opportunities. We are always adding additional opportunities!
Each family is required to volunteer 10 hours per year! If you are looking
for opportunities outside of regular business hours, please consider helping to get donations for the Silent Auction. Also, you get 1 hour for each
PTSO meeting you attend.
New spots recently added: We need judges, score keepers and time
keepers to help with Battle of the Books in May. Also, we need help at
the Silent Auction.

Busch Gardens has extended the deadline to sign up for Grad Nite to April
1st!! There are only a few days left to
register.
8th graders transitioning into high school can attend the
Busch Gardens Grad Night on May 1st from 7 p.m. until midnight. The cost is $53.50 per student and includes rides, DJs,
live entertainment and dinner. Busch Gardens is open exclusively for 8th graders that night.
Flyers are available on the
PTSO website. Please return a completed form to child’s homeroom teacher by April 1st. Parents are needed to chaperone
and transport to and from Busch Gardens. There will be a parent sign up on the website closer to the event. For every 10
paid kids there will be a free chaperone.
We have enough 8th graders attending to allow for two paid teacher chaperons: Mr. Cooney and Ms. Hertenstein. Parents are welcome to chaperon, however we do not have paid tickets for parents. You may go on Ezpay by April 1st and make a payment for
yourself under your 8th grader's name to cover the cost of your tick-
et should you choose to chaperon.
Don’t forget the opportunities to help us collect “Free Money”
This money really adds up quickly and we have already
been able to purchase a lot from these programs!
Please continue to turn in Coke Rewards: Every point counts towards
free money for the school. Codes can be found on the packaging of
your favorite Coca-Cola brands, including Powerade and Dasani water.
Codes are located under caps, inside the tear-off on 12-packs and on
multi-pack wraps.
Please download the Shoparoo app and start takpictures of your grocery, Target, Walmart, Lowes
and other receipts.

send them to Tyson Foods.
Now in addition to the website, the Facebook page, weekly newsletter, the
PTSO app and email reminders you can sign up to receive text reminders from
the PTSO!
