Performance Sound System
The main PA consists of two powered Meyers speaker clusters hung SR and SL. In
addition to the main clusters, the house is also equipped with a full set of front fills (Meyer
M1Ds) and delay speakers for the balconies and boxes. There are Neutrik NL4 speaker dry
lines throughout the house, all accessible via a patch bay in the Patch Room, located in the
lower level. These NL4 dry lines include surround sound points on all levels of the seating
chamber and at each point there is a section of Unistrut channel recessed in the wall for use
as a speaker mount. There is a 4-speaker Portable PA system available, as well, for use in
auxiliary spaces (see specs below).
If the speaker clusters or FOH console must be removed for a production, the production
must bear the labor cost of restoring them to their standard positions. The Kodak THEATRE
does not own a monitor sound system (however, 4 UPJ speakers are available for foldback). The following lists show the major in-house components of the Kodak THEATRE
sound system:
House Tie-Lines
In addition to the Neutrik NL4 dry lines, the theatre is equipped with patch points
for XLR, BNC, Cat 5 and Fiber Optics. The patch points are in various locations
throughout the building and all terminate in the patch room. All patch points are
home runs (i.e., XLR ends in XLR, BNC in BNC, etc.). There are no TT or ¼”
patch bays at the theatre. The individual patch runs do not share a common ground
or common shield – each patch point has its own individual ground run from point
to point. Significant locations of the patch boxes throughout the theater include:
o (2) patch boxes in the FOH media pit include a total of (124) XLR tie-lines,
(20) CAT 5 tie-lines, (4) BNC tie-lins, (4) fiber optic patch points.
o (4) patch boxes on-stage in each corner. Each box consists of no less than
(28) XLR tie-lines and a number of CAT 5 dry lines to the patch room. The
DSL and DSR boxes also include (2) BNC video dry lines, (8) NL4 drylines, and (4) fiber-optic patch points. There are also (2) BNC dry lines UPS
center.
o Both of the 4th Floor loading galleries have (2) XLR dry-lines and (2) BNC
dry lines.
o A/V Booth has (2) patch boxes with a total (4) BNCs total, (40) XLR (4)
CAT 5
o The center face of the Mezzanine 1 rail has (8) BNC dry lines, one of which
is dedicated to the house video camera, as well as (10) XLRs. Each side of
each Mezzanine rail has (1) XLR dry line.
o The center face of Mezzanine 2 rail has (10) XLRs and (1) BNC dry line.
o The center face of Mezzanine 3 rail has (1) XLR dry line.

House Rigging Equipment
The Grand Drape occupies lineset #1. In general, the linesets are spaced on 6" centers but
skip some locations. In the 60' depth of fly tower, there is a total of 76 manual linesets and
4 motorized sets for the tabsets (upstage/downstage blacks). In addition to the fly house
linesets and tabsets, the theatre is equipped with the standard auxiliary equipment needed to
rig a show. This inventory includes batten extensions, sandbags, sidearms, light ladders, 8
boom bases, and 3 sets of unassembled traveler track sets. Note that the theatre does not
supply consumables such as wire rope, tape, shackles, gel, etc., free of charge.
The theatre also owns (4) 1-ton chain motors and other miscellaneous rigging equipment
(such as spanning beams) which require an additional rental charge.
Rear-stage Gantry System
The rear-stage gantry system is a permanent chain hoist installation which allows heavy
equipment and/or scenery to be moved anywhere within the Rear Stage area. It consists of
four beams (approx. 7' long) which roll SL or SR and have a chain hoist at each end. There
are a total of 8 one-ton hoists in the gantry system.
Performance Haze, Confetti, etc.
The theatre does not have any in-house fog or haze machines. Additionally, the use of such
machines necessitates changes to the fire alarm system which require the presence of a fire
marshal whenever the pubic is present in the theatre. The costs of said fire marshal are
borne by the production. Any use of confetti, snow, water, etc. which will land in or on the
audience must be approved by Theatre Management. Mylar confetti may not be used under
any circumstances.
Wardrobe/Hair and Makeup
The Kodak THEATRE has a fully equipped wardrobe room including the following
equipment:
