Ten Thousand Villages creates opportunities for artisans in developing
countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets
through long-term, fair trading relationships. We are the oldest and largest Fair
Trade organization in North America. Through a network of forty-seven stores, as
well as through hundreds of Festival Sales and E-shopping, Ten Thousand Villages
Canada sells artisan-crafted personal accessories, home decor and gift items from
around the globe.
MINKHA is a sustainable development success story initiated in Bolivia
by Save the Children Canada. Beginning 20 years ago, the women have
established a viable cooperative that has afforded them the means to
provide for their children and their extended families. We are totally NON
PROFIT. You will not only love your sweater, you will help us make a
difference for some very special people in Bolivia!
Servants Anonymous Foundation is a Christian organization that delivers
programs that are based on principles of servant hood, personal recovery,
and community, offering a viable solution to those who are able to escape
the sex trade. Global Wonders fair trade initiative in Nepal produces a line
of beautiful jewelry.
Work of Your Hand International Development is a
Christian not-for-profit organization that desires to
help impoverished artisans in developing nations regain
dignity and self-worth through work that provides fair
wages.
When you buy fair trade olive oil from Palestine you support farmer
families and collectives while promoting justice, peace and
ecumenical understanding. You are also supporting economic
development in Palestine, the planting of new olive trees to
replace destroyed groves, and educational programs for youth
there.
Silver Sensations
sells vibrant jewelry, which is created by artisans in the highlands of Guatemala using glass beads
produced in the Czech Republic. Over 100 families are paid more than fair wages in the local context, providing opportunities in
four different economically disadvantaged communities.
Friends of Burma sells Fair Trade chocolate, handmade crafts and 100% Organic coffee in order to help refugees from
the world's longest running civil war with medical and other aid, resettling in Canada and sponsorship of families in need.
