Park Management Plan (1995–2005)
1995 June
CALM
Recommendations to emerge from the
plan are improvements to the aesthetics
of the park (power supply and
infrastructure), improvement of roads
leading to Two Peoples Bay, as well as
pedestrian and vehicle access within the
Park. As the area becomes more
popular, adequate car parking and
visitor information will be needed.
Dieback is an increasing problem, hence
the Park needs to be provided with
wash down areas and the documentation
and monitoring of affected areas should
continue.

Establishes actions to ensure sustainable
land and water practices across the
southern portions of the Great Southern
and Goldfields-Esperance regions. Does
not directly develop coastal
management direction, however may
impact on aspects of coastal
management. The major change in this
planning region is the incorporation of
the coastal and marine issues into the
catchment strategy in order to address
the objectives for integrated natural
resource management under NHT2.
The way to achieve this integration is
currently being discussed by the groups.

Strategic plan
This was a co-operative and voluntary
venture by the South Coast
Management Group, which is primarily
a local government group with
extensive community and State agency
support. Implementation of Southern
Shores has proceeded with the
development of an implementation
schedule for the members of the South
Coast Management Group. Southern
Shores is being used to help formulate
the coastal and marine component of the
NRM strategy.
