Dear Montage supporters,
One of my favorite Whitfield memories is when I impersonated Mick Jagger to the tune of the Rolling Stones’, “Start Me
Up,” at a homecoming celebration several years ago. Afterward, I remember a junior student saying, “Only at Whitfield
would the head of school dance like Mick Jagger.” Then as now, Whitfield rocks!
This year’s auction is sure to be a rocking success thanks in large part to our auction chairs Sheri Diemer and Stacy
Rubenstein, and all of the parent volunteers who collaborate to make the Montage auction a centerpiece of Whitfield’s
friend and fund raising calendar.
I thank the many generous contributors of auction items and underwriting gifts from throughout our community, as well
as the teachers who graciously volunteer their time and talent to help the event flow. Also, please join me in recognizing
the dedicated professionals on our communications and development teams, who work tirelessly year-round to promote
Whitfield and raise funds in support of our program.
Participation in Montage, at every level, supports Whitfield’s educational mission. Whether arts, athletics, new technology,
or professional development for our teachers; every aspect of Whitfield School benefits from your enthusiastic bidding at
Montage 2011 – “Whitfield Will Rock You!”
With supporters like you, Whitfield is sure to “rock on” for generations to come.
Thank you and all the best,
Mark J. Anderson
Head of School
2
Dear Whitfield Families and Friends,
We are ready to welcome you to
Montage 2011. The entire Whitfield community has rallied
together to make this a rockin’ good show by donating items, contributing underwriting dollars, buying an ad, volunteering
on a committee, buying a raffle ticket, attending the “pre-party” Saks event, contributing to the class baskets, attending the
event and bidding on items.
There are so many people to thank. A special thank you goes out to Kelly Edwards whose energy, enthusiasm and expertise
inspired so many to join the effort to make this such a successful event. Thank you doesn’t say enough to Whitfield’s
expert graphic artist Melissa Irvin, and Michelle Parsons and Ed White of Whitfield’s Advancement Team. With their tireless
effort, creativity, perseverance and knowledge, the team has created a fun and thrilling event. We also want to thank
the following people whose time and talents have also significantly contributed to this successful event: Stacy Carey and
Ginger Kurten as our Decorations Chairs; Teresa Mitchelson Busch and Susan Ullman as our Set Up Chairs; Don & Mary
McLaughlin as Advertising Chairs; and Mimi Hammack as Sign-Up Party Committee Chair. Finally, no thank you list would
be complete without our AMAZING Solicitation Committee. You all
Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who been a part of this event. That’s how we roll!
Tonight… you are all rock stars. We hope you enjoy this event. Be ready to eat, drink, bid, dance, laugh,
enjoy and celebrate!
Rock on and on,
Sheri Diemer

1.To bid on a Live Auction item, attract the attention of the auctioneer by raising your bid paddle high above your head at the
appropriate time. Each bid legally obligates the bidder to pay the bid price in full if his or her bid is deemed final at the fall
of the auctioneer’s hammer. The auction will be fast-paced, and bids must be made quickly. Bidding is closed only by the
auctioneer. Decisions of the auctioneer are final.
2.Certificates for Live Auction items will be taken directly to the highest bidder’s table. Throughout the evening, the cashier’s table
will accumulate copies of your winning certificates. If you have not previously authorized payments to be charged to your credit
card or Whitfield bookstore account (for Whitfield families only), then at the end of the evening winning bidders should make one
payment at the cashier’s table.
3.Whitfield School has endeavored to catalogue and describe the items and services correctly, but everything is sold “as is.”
Previously unannounced, and/or duplicate Live Auction items, if any, may or may not be identical to published descriptions. The
Auctioneer will make reasonable attempts to clarify and provide an accurate description of duplicate Live Auction items. By his/
her purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against either the School or the donor of goods and services.

Tables open at 6:00 p.m. and close 15 minutes after the Live Auction ends.
1.To bid on a Super Silent item, enter your bid on the bid sheet located in front of each displayed item. Please see bid
sheet for bidding increments. If you wish, you may enter a blind bid at any time.
2.Fifteen minutes prior to closing, an announcement will be made indicating “All Bids Now Blind” and only blind bids will
be accepted. All bidders will bid against the last highest bid posted by filling out bid cards with the necessary information
and placing them in the designated box in front of each item. This is your last chance to make the highest bid! At the end
of the 15-minute blind bidding period, the box will be removed, blind bids will be collected and the highest bid will be posted
at each item.
3.The item will be awarded to the person with the highest bid above the reserve. In the event of a tie,
the winner will be decided by a random drawing of tied bidders. To avoid ties in the Super Silent auction, bid an odd amount,
such as $101.59 instead of $100.00.
4.If you have not previously authorized payments to be charged to your credit card or Whitfield bookstore account (for Whitfield
families only), then at the end of the evening winning bidders should make one payment at the cashier’s table.
