LEGOLAND California
Bring the family to LEGOLAND California, with its popular LEGOLAND
Water Park and SEA Life Aquarium. The 128-acre Park is designed
specifically to appeal to families with children ages 3 to 12. The Park
features roller coasters, LEGO-themed rides, interactive shows, hands-on
attractions, LEGO-building play areas, and the famously breathtaking
Miniland, restaurants, shopping, landscaped features and gardens.
Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch
Noted for being one of the most beloved spring traditions in the area,
the ranch opens annually in March for six to eight weeks showcasing the
Giant Tecolote Ranunculus. Also check out the miniature rose garden and
the All-American Rose walk-of-fame that features 170 All-American Rose
selection winners since 1940.
Strawberry Fields
The Carlsbad Strawberry Company is a family run grower of fruits
and vegetables. Now in its third generation, they have been
farming in this area since 1948. The strawberry field has been
part of the Carlsbad landscape long before Interstate 5 was built.
North County: Encinitas & Solana Beach
San Diego Botanical Garden
Explore four miles of garden trails, enjoy restful vistas, flowering trees,
majestic palms, and the nation’s largest bamboo collection. Thanks to our mild
climate, plants from all over the world thrive here. Our diverse topography
provides a variety of microclimates giving the visitor a sensation of going from
a desert environment to a tropical rainforest, all within 37 acres. Located in
Encinitas, California, San Diego Botanic Garden features numerous exhibits,
including rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, a tropical rainforest and
California native plants.
The Lumberyard
The Lumberyard Shopping Center is built on the former site of a
lumberyard, in historic downtown Encinitas. The central courtyard has
been recently renovated, with a central fountain and beautiful
landscaping. Lumberyard Shopping Center has a variety of shops, including
food, art galleries, books, boutiques, and coffee.
Cedros Design District – Solana Beach
With about 110 different vendors, Cedros has everything including
interior décor, antiques, clothing boutiques — even a shop named
“Muttropolis” with doggie attire. Zinc Café is a great stop for a latte.
On the third Thursday of the month, Solana Beach's art & architecture
hub hosts a gallery & shop walk from 5:30pm-11:00 pm. Various
galleries and shops remain open for an after-work wind-down with
casual art and boutique receptions. Located in Solana Beach, Cedros
Design District is within a 20-minute drive from the resort.

Del Mar Beaches
There are three main beaches in Del Mar, all large and with lots of sand. Here, you
will find some of the finest beaches in San Diego, great for families, dogs, surfers,
swimmers and sun bathers. With the quaint and luxurious seaside village of Del
Mar within walking distance, and the legendary Del Mar Race Track nearby, Del
Mar beaches liven up with visitors and locals throughout the summer months.
Del Mar Plaza Boutiques
The bustling hub of Del Mar is at the intersection of Camino del Mar
and 15th Street. Del Mar Plaza features three levels of upscale
boutiques, including Bayley, with quality casual wear; chic lingerie

and women. The shopping district is lined with boutiques, cafes and

La Jolla Cove and Beaches
La Jolla Cove is San Diego’s most desirable spot for swimming, snorkeling and
diving. The water is calm and ecologically protected, providing a safe home for
colorful garibaldi, yellowtail, rays and even leopard sharks. Because the water is
protected, surfboards, boogie boards and other floatation devices are not
permitted. The beach itself is small, but nearby Scripps Park offers a nice grassy
expanse for spreading out. Parking is available in nearby paid lots, with a few
street spots available for the lucky..

Williams-Sonoma, Crate and Barrel, GAP, Coach, the Apple Store,
Express, Macy’s and many others make this mall a pleasure. Unique
to all other malls in the county, UTC offers an indoor ice-skating rink
year round.
Grand Plaza
Grand Plaza, located in San Marcos, just 18 minutes east of the resort
features a Nordstrom Rack, Ulta Beauty Supply, Bed Bath & Beyond,
Marshalls, and more. Grand Plaza contains several family friendly
restaurants, including Pat and Oscar’s, The Elephant Bar, Pei Wei
Restaurant, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza, and L&L Hawaiian Barbeque, to name a few. It is conveniently located behind Edwards San

Westfield Horton Plaza is just two blocks away from the Civic Center
trolley station in downtown San Diego. Horton Plaza was designed to

corner and there are many corners to go around! With 7 levels
twisted through 6 1/2 city blocks, you just have to ask your way
around when you get there. Horton Plaza features Louis Vuitton

Plaza Camino Real-Carlsbad
Just 15 minutes away, located at I-5 and 78, this North County indoor
mall is home to Sears, Macy's, Ann Taylor Loft, JCPenney and plenty
of surrounding mini-malls. It also has a few fast food stands scattered
throughout the mall, and other dining options include New World
Restaurant, located within Macy’s, and Pat and Oscar’s, a great family-style chain restaurant. It may not overwhelm with shopping mecca
luxury, but it gets the job done.
South Coast Plaza
A 45 minute drive north of our resort is Orange County’s largest
upscale shopping mall. South Coast Plaza is the OC’s equivalent to
Rodeo Drive. It not only offers shoppers "regular" mall stores, but
also boasts of having a large selection of luxury shops and boutiques
as well! South Coast Plaza features two separate enclosed malls, and a
dining and entertainment complex. The west wing, “Jewel
Court” (between Nordstrom & Saks Fifth Avenue) is an indoor
Rodeo Drive, containing such exclusive stores as Gucci, Valentino,
Versace, Georgio Armani, Saks Fifth Avenue, Christian Dior, Ralph
