The Shri Ram School was conceived by Padma Shri Mrs. Manju Bharat Ram and Mr. Arun Bharat
Ram with a vision to create well-rounded and sensitive individuals, able to take on the world and
leave their mark wherever they go. Established in 1988, its pupils amply epitomize the four core
values and principles of the school-Integrity, Pursuit of Excellence, Sensitivity, and a strong
feeling of Pride in their own Heritage.

MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the school is to provide each student a diverse education in a safe, supportive
environment that promotes sound values, self-discipline, motivation and excellence in
learning. The school joins with the parents and the community to assist the students in
developing skills to become independent and self- sufficient adults who will succeed and
contribute responsibly in a global community.
ACCREDITATION:
We are an inclusive, child-centered, progressive school and are accredited to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations
(CISCE) as well as The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) & Cambridge International Examination (CIE). We are a split
campus with the Junior school at Vasant Vihar, Delhi & the Senior school at Gurgaon.
CURRICULUM:
1. ICSE/ISC: From Grade VI to VIII, the curriculum lays strong and equal emphasis on all academic subjects as well as other essential
components such as Art, Music, Dance, Physical Education and Yoga. In Grades IX and X students study six subjects. Five subjects (English,
Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Hindi) are mandatory for all students. The sixth subject is chosen from: Computer Applications,
Commercial Applications, Economic Applications, Art, Drama, Home Science and Physical Education. In Grades XI and XII the student
chooses a 'stream of study'. All the three streams of study are equally demanding.
The three streams offered are:
SCIENCE:
English Core, Physics, Chemistry, (compulsory). Options (any two): Mathematics / Biology / Economics / Computer
Science / Art / Mechanical Drawing / Geography / Elective English.
COMMERCE: English Core, Economics, Accountancy, Commerce (compulsory). Options (any one): Mathematics / Art / Geography /
Elective English / Hindi.
HUMANITIES: English Core (compulsory). Options (any four): Economics / History / Political Science/ Mathematics / Psychology /
Elective English / Sociology / Geography / Art / Hindi.
The CISCE conducts two national examinations, namely, the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE Year X) and The Indian
School Certificate (ISC Year XII). All students in Grades X and XII, regardless of the subjects chosen, have to fulfill the Socially Useful
Productive Work (SUPW) grade. The nature of this programme may involve field trips and community service, which is organised by the

2. CIE: The school has adopted the CIE curriculum from April 2015, with the entry point being Grade VI (Secondary 1) & Grade IX
(IGCSE). In Secondary 1, eight subjects and in IGCSE nine subjects are mandatory. (For further details visit www.cie.org.uk)
3. IB: The Shri Ram School also offers the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) which is recognized in 160 countries. We offer the International
Baccalaureate Diploma Programme only. The IB Curriculum Model consists of six academic subject groups along with three core elements
the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity Activity Service (CAS). Students study a subject from each of the groups

CALENDAR:
ICSE/ISC: The school year is divided into two semesters. The first
semester runs from April to September. The second semester runs
from October to March. The typical school day is from 8.00 am to
2.00 pm (Monday till Thursday) and till 3.00 pm on Fridays. The
schedule is organized on a 10-11 period basis of 30 minutes each.
IB: The school year is divided into two semesters. In the first year,
the first semester runs from April to September. The second
semester runs from October to March. In the second/final year, the
first semester runs from April to September, the second semester
runs from October to March and the Final exam is held in May. The
typical school day is from 8.00am to 3.00pm on all days from
Monday till Friday. The schedule is organized on a 12 period basis of
30 minutes each.
ACADEMIC REPORTS:
In accordance with the standards outlined by the ICSE/ISC and the IBO, the following grading system is used:
ISC: In Grades XI-XII, a full report is issued twice a year. For Grade XII students, for the purpose of admission to colleges/universities, the
school predicts grades for all students in September. The Mid Year Report is issued in January and the Final Report is issued by the Council
after the Board Examinations in May. The class size of the graduating year 2015-16 is 109 students.
Achievement Scales:
The ISC assessment is in percentages for all subjects. The school assesses it’s students in percentages and gives a predicted percentage as
well.
IB: In Grades XI-XII, a full report is issued twice a year. For Grade XI students, the report is issued in September and the Final report is issued
in March. For Grade XII students, for purpose of admission to Colleges/Universities, the school predicts grades for all students in
September. The Mid Year report is issued in December and the Final Report is issued in July by the IBO. The class size of the graduating year
2015-16 is 45 students.

SPECIAL EDUCATION:
The Special Education Needs Department provides inclusive educational opportunities to children with special needs. Our main objective is
to integrate children into the mainstream wherever possible as well as providing an adapted or functional curriculum according to the needs of
the student. In certain cases, the National Open School is offered as an alternate curriculum.
Leadership Programme of tGELF (The Global Education Leadership Foundation):
This is an initiative of an NGO the Nand and Jeet Khemka foundation. tGELF has partnered with over 45 schools all over India, and The Shri
Ram School is considered their flagship school. The underlying ethos is the fostering and nurturing of ethical leadership skills in children. The
programme begins in Grade VIII for all children. After Grade X, ten percent of the children are selected through a process involving nomination
and interviews to form the Leadership Club headed by the Leadership Coordinator. Our students have been awarded the title ‘Khemka Scholar'
and have been awarded scholarships to attend summer placement programmes in Brown, Cornell, Lehigh University and the University of
Pennsylvania.

CO-CURRICULAR AND COMMUNITY SERVICE:
The school offers a wide range of activities such as music, drama, debate, quizzing, clay pottery, film appreciation and film making. A number
of inter-school events such as the 'Shri Debate', 'Shri Tech Quiz' 'Shri Khoj'(Inter School Science Competition) and 'Shri Basketball' are hosted
each year. The school students are encouraged to be a part of or head various societies in the school including Dance, Debate, Model United
Nations, Music, Science, Heritage, Computer and Economics Society. They also create and manage their own blogs. The school has a strong
Environment and Community Service Programme. It was the first school in Delhi to start Rainwater Harvesting. The school has initiated the
Balwadi Programme, wherein students of the school (ICSE and IB) teach children of migrant construction labourers. This is done with the aim
of sensitizing the students and giving them a deeper understanding to the lives of children in rural areas, the issues and hardships they face.
