GARDENIA
ADD PERFUME TO YOUR GARDEN
Highly fragrant with stunning white or yellow
flowers that flower in spring and summer, though
Gardenia ‘Radicans’ flowers in summer and is a
brilliant hardy ground cover.
FERTILISING
Fertilise your Gardenia with OSMOCOTE
ROSES & GARDENIAS, TROFORTE ‘POTS
& PLANTS’ or KAHOONA (best for in ground
grown), or THRIVE SOLUBLE FLOWER &
FRUIT, AQUASOL or UPLIFT. BLOOD &
BONE provides complete organic nutrients.
Fortnightly solutions of SEASOL, UPLIFT,
MAXICROP, FISH EMULSION or HARVEST
will provide sustained root system health.
POSITION
Gardenias grow best in semi shaded areas although
some varieties ie. – Gardenia florida can handle
sun, though height may vary depending on species
selected.
CARE
Gardenias also grow well in pots, while some
species can be clipped into hedges.
If serious yellowing on the leaves occurs, add
EPSOM SALTS, TRACE ELEMENTS or
SULPHATE OF IRON to correct these symptoms
of iron deficiencies. Pay careful attention to mixing
instructions.
