Ante Todo
No, we are not trying to show
off our skill in Latin. But, this
expression, which means integrity
above all, speaks to what is, ideally,
one of the core values of our
profession and is the very fabric of
Wickwire Holm.
No two individuals could more
exemplify this value than our
newest partners, J. Scott Barnett
and Jennifer Forster.
Scott joins us after having spent the
past 10 years as in-house counsel to
one of Canada’s leading insurance
companies. Scott has developed a first
class reputation in insurance defence
work and has considerable experience
in defending against property, casualty
and disability claims of all kinds, and in
providing coverage opinions and advice
in the context of commercial general
liability, automobile and property
insurance. Scott is looking forward to
continuing and expanding his work in
these areas and in dispute resolution
in general.
Scott received his undergraduate
degree from Mount Allison University,
his law degree from the University of
Toronto and was called to the Bar in
Nova Scotia in 1998.
Scott has served as the solicitor for the
Arthritis Society, Nova Scotia Division,
and currently sits as an Adjudicator of
the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia
in Halifax.

the HRM, kept constantly on the go by
their three young children.
Jennifer comes to join us after
spending 13 years in private practice,
most recently with a regional law
firm. Jennifer has put her considerable
talents to good use attending to the
needs of owner-managed businesses,
from the drafting of share/ asset
purchase and sale agreements, to
advice on business structures, to tax
planned corporate reorganizations and
amalgamations. Along the way she
has advised large lenders and private
clients with respect to all manner of
corporate financing and the associated
security agreements.
Jennifer received her undergraduate
and law degrees from Dalhousie
University and was called to the
Nova Scotia Bar in 1999.
Jennifer served several years on the
Canadian Bar Association, Nova Scotia
Branch Council and currently serves
on the executive of the Halifax Clayton
Park Liberal Riding Association and
on the Board of the Arthur Kidston
Memorial Camp.
Jennifer balances her life with spouse,
Stephen, and their new going concern,
son, MacConnell.
Welcome
Scott and
Jennifer your strength and
integrity truly enrich
our fabric!
