Dental Implants – what does this mean?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root which serves as
fixation for a later restoration.
Implants are available in different diameters and lengths in
order to comply with the individual requirements.
The majority of implants are made of titanium because the
material is absolutely biologically acceptable and has proven
successful, and there are no foreign body reactions. The
implant is placed into the jawbone and enclosed completely
by bone-forming cells during the healing phase. One of the
reasons is the condition of special implant surface structures.
Beautiful teeth – for a lifetime

The personal charisma, appearance, and self-confidence
depend considerably on the state of our teeth. Therefore, to
have beautiful teeth has become essential, as they indicate
esthetics, confidence, well-being as well as dynamics and
success.
If teeth are lost due to an accident, early tooth decay or at a
later time by a periodontal defect – you are confronted with
the question if a dental implant is the preferable treatment
concept for you.
On the other hand, you should discuss your individual tooth
problems, your fears, concerns and wishes with your dentist
and dental technician who should be familiar with the
implant therapy.

When the so-called osseointegration phase has elapsed,
a prosthetic construction and an individually prepared
denture (crown, bridge, full prosthesis) is screwed on and
fixed.

A few things to observe
How much does a
dental implant cost?
Procedure of implant surgery
In many cases, patients deter from the use of dental
implants, because they think the treatment is very costly
and burdensome.
Remember that early treatment with implants is not only
a long-term investment in your dental health but also in a
future with a better quality of life. The investment is in a solid
and very durable prosthesis that gives you more security
in function and phonetics, as well as also enhancing your
personal aesthetic appearance considerably.
Please consult your dentist who will give you an estimate.
Before a planned implant surgery is undertaken, a full dental
examination is performed by your dentist concerning your
dental status, bone quality, and any history of possible prior
diseases, allergies and any medication taken.
Dental implants are inserted under local anesthesia, by
surgical intervention into the jawbone. The existing bone is a
crucial criterion for the implantation procedure, the choice of
the implant and the subsequent care options.
After insertion of the implants into the jaw bone, the healing
period is essential and will last approx. 3-6 months depending
on the implant area. During this time the implants should not
be loaded with the artificial teeth. The prosthetic restoration will be made after the implants have healed in bone
completely.
Enjoy your life with no regrets
After surgery, your dentist will discuss a few rules of
conduct to help provide secure implant healing, thus
ensuring successful implant placement.
• Refrain from using alcohol or from smoking during the
healing phase
• Try not to strain your body with sports or sauna sessions
during the first few weeks
• Abstain from heavy chewing until the sutures are removed
• Perform a thorough but careful mouth hygiene
You will see that it is only a short period of time, for the shortterm restrictions, in proportion to the long-term gain in quality
of life through dental implants.
