Message from the President
To all our registered players and families: On behalf of the entire Erindale
board, I would like to welcome you to the 2015/2016 hockey season.
This will be the 69th year for the Erindale Hockey Association (EHA) which
was formed in 1946 by Mr. Wally Oughtred and his brother Gord. The
Erindale logo includes both the Erindale “E” and the famous RAF Spitfire.
The Spitfire symbolizes skill, determination, and a never quit attitude; the
very attributes that the EHA strives to instill in its players and coaches.

Erindale hockey is a 100% volunteer-run board of directors and, without the
hard work and dedication of these individuals, Erindale Hockey would not
be the great association that it is today. The Spitfire and what it symbolizes
along with our motto “skill, determination and a never quit attitude” runs
through the entire association.
The upcoming season promises to be very exciting. Below are just a few of
the events that are planned for the families at Erindale. For a complete list,
please see page 4.

Erindale Apparel Day - November 7th - This is a great opportunity to
wear the Erindale logo and colours proudly throughout the arenas.

Erindale Day with the Steelheads - November 15th - 2:00 pm Purchase tickets for the whole family at a highly discounted price and wear
you Erindale jersey to the game!

Erindale Dance - February 6th - The dance is a great opportunity for
the parents to get out and enjoy a night out with their fellow Erindale
parents. Watch for details coming soon.

Erindale 28th Annual IP Festival - March 29th - April 10th
•
Erindale hosts the OHF Peewee "A" Provincial Championships April 7th - 10th
Erindale believes in teaching all the players, parents and coaches respect
for all those involved in this great game of hockey - teammates, game
officials, opposing coaches and players, parents from all of the teams, and
most importantly for the players themselves.
Thanks for choosing the Erindale Hockey Association! We will all strive to
make this a memorable and pleasant hockey experience.

Erindale Midget "A" Spitfires Win
West Mall Early Bird
Erindale to

PeeWee "A"
Championships
The Erindale PeeWee "A"
team will play host to the
Ontario Hockey Federation
PeeWee "A"
Championships this
coming April.
The OHF Championships
mark the end of the playing
season for hundreds of
players across Ontario.
Hosting the event will
provide Erindale the
opportunity to showcase
not only our club, but also
the Mississauga
community.
The Erindale Midget "A" Spitfires won the Midget Division of the West
Mall Lightning Early Bird Tournament on Sunday September 13 with
a 3-2 victory over Port Credit in the Final.
Alex Montag jammed in a loose puck with six seconds remaining in
the second period for the go-ahead goal and Justin Morandin made
numerous big saves in the third to preserve the victory versus an
excellent Port Credit team.
Andrew Durant and Christian Iskandar scored earlier for the
Spitfires, who were 4-0 during the round robin portion of the
tournament, defeating Humber Valley, West Mall, Halton Hills and
Applewood scoring 16 goals and allowing only three.

Erindale PeeWee "A"
Pitches In!
The Erindale Peewee "A" team participated in a
"tree planting" day in conjunction with the City of
Mississauga on Saturday Oct. 23rd. The team
wanted to give back to the environment, create
community spirit and enjoy the outdoors. The City
has an initiative to plant 1,000,000 trees over the
next 20 years. It was wonderful that an EHA team
could participate in this endeavour to improve the
health of our community. Thanks to the hard work
from the all the players, coaching staff, and parents
who participated, we helped plant 240 trees.

teams.
Sponsorship is a great way to show
your support of minor league
hockey and to gain visibility for your
company throughout the hockey
season.
For a $500 investment, a sponsor's
name and logo will appear on the
team jersey. In addition, all team
sponsor names are displayed at
Erin Mills Twin Rinks, and each
sponsor receive an appreciation
plaque at the end of the season.
