TIP OF THE MONTH
Install a Formed
Windshield
Using heavy paper from a cereal
box or manila folder, cut & fit a
template & screw in place.
Remove the template and cut a
windshield from clear plastic
material. Start at the top, and screw
the windshield material in place
over the paper template only at the
top. Use a heat gun along the top
radius while you gently pull it into
position. Do not use too much heat
or the plastic will blister. When the
windshield has been pulled into its
proper position, heat along one side
while pulling that side into position,
& then secure with a couple of
screws. Repeat for the other side,
then remove, clean the windshield
and install. The screws should be
no more than 1 inch apart.

Please put the following dates on your calendar’s
 Field Clean up April 21st and 22nd bring rakes and trimmers.
 Pylon Racing May 5th practice, May 6th event. Please come out and lend a
hand even for a couple of hours. 20 people needed to run this event.
 Aero-Tow April 18th 19th & 20th. Come out and participate and help out as
needed. Traffic control, general assistance and become a glider pilot.
 Memorial Event June 30th & July 1th. Come fly what you want. We will
need volunteers to help with traffic control, raffles, safety, cooking, etc.

Minutes of March 20th, 2012 Meeting
The March 20th, 2012 meeting of the RC Propbusters was called to order at 7:30PM with 31 members present.
The minutes of the February 21st, 2012 meeting were read and accepted. Treasury report by Dennis Duplice;
beginning balance was $9869.56. Income plus expenses were (+$1495.00), ending balance was $11364.56.
Note: If anybody requires a detailed tally of expenses and income, Please contact Ron Czikowski.
Committees
Sail Plane event: May 18th, 19th, and 20th
Pylon Races: May 5th practice, May 6th racing, October 13th and 14th racing, both days. Help is needed for all
days, please come out and lend a hand even if it is only for a couple of hours.
All Model Memorial Event: June 30th and July 1st
Neighborhood Fun Fly: Still in the planning stages
Old Business:
Field cleanup will be held April 21st and 22nd. We will be renting a roller like last year, and we need as many
people to come out and help as possible.
Budget review and report will be given at May’s meeting
Insurance certificates were done for the COMO and the Flying field. Club charter was renewed. Stu Sarak asked
the club to be represented at the Gales Ferry Aero Space Night Demo, Rob Burris and Andrew W. Volunteered
Andrew W. is still working on the new website .
Saybrook Family Services Association flying demo on Sept 22nd needs volunteers, contact Tom Vernon for
details.
Boy Scouts looking to use Field again this year for camping and rocket flying.
New Business
A Field rule was proposed, to have all Dogs at the field leashed at all times. It was voted on and accepted
unanimously.
Andrew W. talked about building our own weather station at the field that can be accessed online, there was
some discussion and it was thought to be a good idea. He will get more info on it and we will vote on it at a
future meeting.
Dennis talked about the shelter; we are waiting for the budget review to decide if we have enough money to do
it.
Good and Welfare
John Burrows painted the backs of the signs at the end of field to make it easier for pilots to see them.
Dogs need to be on leashes at all times when at the field, No Exceptions.
No smoking in the pit area and all cigarette butts should be placed in receptacles on fence.
