Among the thousands of e-mails we get
everyday there are stories of mothers who
have kept their products for their daughters and who now see them wear their
shoes as well. Brides who ask for information about white styles, because they
absolutely want to get married in a pair

moved abroad and thank us for being all
over the world. It’s a relationship that

On June 4th, Piccadilly celebrates 60
years of great success. Nowadays, the
brand is loved by grandmothers, mothers
and daughters, the result of the brand’s
history of learning, growth and innovation. As the years have gone by, the company has kept its commitment to quality
and comfort, designed classic styles and
created, very modern collections, with
fashionable touches. This history has
only been possible thanks to the regard
of everyone who appreciates each shoe
coming out of the factory, made with
dedication and professionalism.
Piccadilly’s timeline is intertwined
with the history of shoe design evolution
in Brazil, and the person responsible for
all of this was Almiro Grings, a visionary
who had bold ideas. Along with his partners Alfredo Marmitt, Evaldo Armindo
Klein and Arnildo Kaiser, he decided to
invest on the shoe market at a time when
this sector was still completely undeveloped in the South of the country.
They started off small: 12 pairs of
shoes were produced each day. But Mr.
Grings, who is a descendant of German
immigrants, believed in what he was doing. And he was right; today, Piccadilly
has a daily production rate of 50 thousand pairs, and exports to over 90 countries. He knew that all beginnings could
be tough, but that work made with love
is always successful.

event has existed since 1983, being one
of the most important in Latin America.
It’s the brand’s ninth participation in
this fair, whose distinguishing feature
is that consumers are admitted, which
allowed Piccadilly’s faithful and passionate audience to visit the stand.
Some fans of the brand immediately professed their love for Piccadilly:

Tibúrcio Grings, in turn, son and former director of development of the company, recalls Mr. Grings’ persistence:
“I remember hearing my father say ‘If
you’re going through a tough time, do
something different from others and be
unique”. That lesson is put in practice on
a daily basis.

Being a family company has helped
Piccadilly gather knowledge background,
getting stronger every year. The founder`s
grandchildren, who grew up in the company, now hold executive positions and are
motivated by their grandfather’s history.
The third generation has shared from
very early on the family’s passion for the
business and now put their clients’ satisfaction first.
The new marketing campaign is a
demonstration of that. It was especially
designed for the company’s 60th anniversary: a relationship of friendship and trust
passed on from generation to generation.
Grandmother, daughter and granddaughter are in perfect sync, wearing Piccadilly
and sharing close moments. The main
wording of the campaign is a summary
of the company’s trajectory: 60 years of a
passion that has been renewed.
OTHER CONTINENTS
And whereas this story has developed across many generations, it has also
reached other continents. “Piccadilly is
a leading brand abroad. Therefore, we
have the duty to continue this expansion
and make the brand even more indispensable to a great part of consumers in other
countries,” says Micheline Grings Twigger,
exporting director. With so many years
of experience, numbers on the rise, and
awards won annually, Paulo Elói Grings,
Piccadilly’s CEO, shows that there’s
much more to come. Even if his is one of
the largest companies in the shoe business
in the country, he preserves the modesty learned from his father and says that
every day he rolls up his sleeves to direct his company with determination
and transparency to reach the highest
grounds in its history: “We may not be
the largest, but we have the competence
to be one of the best and we have worked
toward this, taking a step at a time, like
my father has taught us,” he concludes.
These 60 years are only the beginning of
a story that started small (but always important) and has grown so much in such a
short time. New steps will surely follow,
thanks to every consumer’s friendship and
