T-Town
(A day trip that makes sense)
June 3, 2015
We are venturing to Tulsa for a
great day trip. We will restore our
five senses. Our first stop is a most
popular horticulture attraction,
Woodward Gardens. We will
“touch” our way through the
45-acre park. It boasts a wide
variety of horticultural delights,
including rock gardens, an English
herb garden, a terraced Italian Renaissance rose
garden, a Victorian conservatory, a three-acre
arboretum and an azalea garden with over 15,000
azaleas. Our next stop will highlight the sense of
“sight” as we visit the Philbrook Museum of Art. The
museum is housed in part in a 1920s villa, situated on
23 acres of formal and informal gardens. Following our
museum visit it is time to work on our sense of “smell”
and “taste” with an included lunch. At our next stop we
will use our sense of “hearing” by listening to the story
of Woody Guthrie, one of America’s greatest
folksingers and songwriters. There will be some free
time to explore Tulsa’s Brady District. Included is
admission to all attractions, lunch, deluxe motor coach
transportation and driver gratuity.
Million Dollar Quartet
May 30, 2015
$89.00 pp
$127.00 pp
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is the new smash-hit
musical inspired by the famed recording session that
brought together rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley,
Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for
the first and only time. On December 4, 1956, these
four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in
Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam
sessions ever. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET brings
that legendary night to life, featuring a score of rock
hits including "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "That's
All Right," "Sixteen Tons," "Great Balls of Fire,"
"Walk the Line," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On,"
"Who Do You Love?," "Matchbox," "Folsom Prison
Blues," "Hound Dog" and more. This thrilling
musical brings you inside the recording studio with
four major talents who came together as a red-hot
rock 'n' roll band for one unforgettable night. Don't
miss your chance to be a fly on the wall of fame...

Chocolate Mystery

Chicken N Pickin’
$85.00 pp
August 29, 2015
There are few foods that people feel as passionate
about --- a passion that goes beyond a love for the
“sweetness” of most candies or desserts: after all, few
people crave other sweets the way chocolate is
craved. Chocolate is, well, different. For the true
chocoholic, just thinking about chocolate can evoke a
pleasurable response. Join us as the Grand Travelers
set out on a new type of mystery . . .
A Chocolate Mystery!
We are headed back to Walnut, Kansas for the best,
mouth-watering, old-fashioned, pan-fried chicken
and down-home country music! Our afternoon
listening entertainment will be performed by the
Straight Run Band. The dinner theatre is located on
Karen Duling’s country property, in a rustic, restored
dairy barn. Folks visit from all over the Midwest and
the show has been featured in Country Discovery
Magazine. A stop is planned at Miners Hall Museum.
It is located in the Franklin Community Center and
Heritage Museum. We will be able to view mining
artifacts as well as other historic items. Before
arriving in Grove we will visit Circle’s Pecans. Four
generations of family have owned and operated this
business. The pecans are grown in their
very own 3000 tree orchard located right
in the Neosho River Valley.

Get ready for a full day of fun and music. The River
City Players are performing at the NSU Playhouse in
Tahlequah. For the afternoon production we will enjoy 50s and 60s music . . . Twistin’ Time. Jump back
in time as we revisit all your favorite classic rock and
roll hits from Elvis, Buddy Holly, Nancy Sinatra, The
Beach Boys and The Supremes. For dinner we will
head over to Restaurant of the Cherokees for their
buffet. It is loaded with American favorites and a
handful of authentic Cherokee dishes. This place has
a large and loyal clientele but tonight we have it all to
ourselves. Following dinner we will once again enjoy
the River City Players but tonight it is Honky Tonk
Hits. Get ready to hear some of the favorite country
hits. Whether you love iconic country anthems like
“Friends in Low Places,” heart-warming ballads like
“Help Me Make it Through the Night,” or toe-tapping
