Located at One Schoolhouse Road on Route 28 in the heart of Harwich
Port, the Information Center is staffed with friendly and knowledgeable
volunteers ready to answer your questions, supply you with maps and
information, and direct you to Harwich’s many fine retail, lodging and
dining establishments. We are also happy to refer you to excellent local
businesses and organizations, as well as talented tradespeople.
The Information Center is open Memorial Day weekend through
Columbus Day, Monday thru Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, Saturday and Sunday
11 AM – 4 PM. Open off-season Monday thru Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM.
The building is handicapped-accessible, with free parking and public
restrooms available year-round.

Incorporated in 1694, Harwich has a rich maritime and agriculture
history. With a year-round population of approximately 13,000 people,
Harwich is comprised of seven villages: East Harwich, Harwich Center,
Harwich Port, North Harwich, Pleasant Lake, South Harwich and West
Harwich. Each village has its own unique personality and attractions.
Harwich is also renowned for its four harbors – Allen Harbor, Round
Cove, Saquatucket Harbor, and Wychmere Harbor – and its many

Cycling in the Harwiches is a great way to explore the town. The Cape Cod
Rail Trail offers a paved surface, few hills, and well-marked vehicle crossings.
Bike and helmet rentals for all ages are readily available. Call the Chamber at

Harwich is proud to offer two beautifully landscaped and challenging golf
courses, both open to the public and easily accessible by car or public transportation.
Cranberry Valley Golf Course (CVGC) is an 18-hole course built through
wetlands, woods and cranberry bogs. It offers a championship layout
designed by noted architects Cornish & Robinson. CVGC has been noted
‘Excellent’ by Zagat Golf Guide and was the recipient of
“4 Stars” by Golf Digest. A complete bunker and practice facility redesign and
renovation by Mark Mungeum & Cornish Associates make this the course to
play! Before and after a round, golfers can enjoy a view of the course while
having a delicious meal or light snack at the “Back Nine Café”. The Café is
open to the public.
Harwich Port Golf Club offers a 9-hole challenge with 2,461 yards of golf
with a par of 34. Designed by Don Blakeley, the Harwich Port golf course
opened in 1920. The Golf Club House is located in an old barn that was
converted into the club house and provides a warm and inviting environment where golfers can relax both before and after play.
