POLICE BRIEFS
Police Make Arrest in Two Daytime Shootings
LAFAYETTE – On November 26, 2014, at approximately 10:30
am, Lafayette Police responded to the 300 block of Sampson Street
regarding a shooting. Witnesses inside of the home told police that
a black car with multiple occupants drove in front of the residence
and fired approximately 6 shots from a pistol at the home. No one
was injured in the home and the vehicle fled the area.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Joshua Trovon Harley
(19) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Attempted First
Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial
Numbers. Harley is believed to be responsible for the shooting
that occurred near the intersection of Cameron Street and Pierce
Street. After the shooting Harley fled to the residence on Sampson
Street.
Detectives also arrested Christopher James Bartie (24) of
Lafayette for Assault by Drive by Shooting. Bartie was one of
the victim’s operating the vehicle involved in the Cameron Street
Shooting. Bartie is believed to have dropped the victim off at the
hospital and then later drove in front of the residence on Sampson,
firing multiple shots at the home. The motive behind both shootings
is an ongoing feud. The investigation remains ongoing.
Pedestrian Dies in Gloria Switch Crash
LAFAYETTE -- Lafayette, LA – On November 28, 2014, at
approximately 11:00 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 200
block of Gloria Switch Rd regarding a crash involving a pedestrian.
