Farm Storage Bins
Complete
"Your Complete
Systems
Manufacturer."
Based in Assumption, Illinois
USA in a 900,000 sq. ft. facility, GSI has been providing
grain storage, drying, and
handling systems for over 33
years. With an experienced
staff, and a global network
of dealers, we’re where you
need us, when you need us
for quality equipment and
service. The GSI Group also
operates facilities throughout
the world including Brazil,
China, Malaysia, Mexico, and
the United Kingdom for convenient access to our full line
of products.
“Year after year, on-site
storage has proven to be a
sound investment strategy.”
No matter how high yields are, harvest time grain prices
can still equal minimal profit. That’s where GSI's farm storage bins specifically target those looking for an edge when
markets are at a low. On-site storage offers such benefits as
reduced shipping cost, convenient time-savings, and most
importantly, the freedom to hold your commodity for potentially better returns in the future.
What makes GSI the right choice? Simply, our commitment to quality products and service, the industries most
complete line of grain storage, drying and handling
equipment, systems and accessories from one manufacturer, worldwide availability, and innovations and
features that make your work a whole lot easier. When
you buy GSI, you get an excellent product, backed by
an excellent warranty. We deliver value with a personal
commitment to each and every customer.
GSI offers the complete package solution to all your grain
storage requirements. Our
farm series bins range in size
from 15' to 60' diameter with
a variety of flooring, grain
conditioning, and material
handling options to choose
from depending on your specific application.
"No Other Manufacturer in the
World Offers Sidewall Heavier
than 8 Gauge!"
GSI storage bins are constructed using high tensile steel sidewall
.205" sheets, up to 65,000 p.s.i. (450 MPa) minimum. A commercial G-90,
bright spangle galvanized steel coating increases life and durabil.164" ity. In addition, only GSI is capable of providing 5 and 6 gauge steel
sidewall panels for unbeatable strength.
8 Gauge Vs. 5 Gauge
Galvanized Steel
The heaviest galvanized steel previously available for sidewall panels
was 8 gauge (.164"). GSI's exclusive
5 gauge (.205") galvanized steel
sidewall panels however are 25%
thicker and provide up to a 37.5%
increase in overall strength.
2.66" & 4.00" Sidewall
Panel Corrugation
Due to the large investment, few
bin manufacturers are capable of
producing two "in-house" corrugated patterns. In addition, corrugated
steel from other sources lacking the
proper machinery can lead to poor
sidewall quality and cause delays in
field construction. GSI’s exclusive,
roll-forming press is capable of corrugating with complete precision,
providing accurate sidewall sheets
every time for a tighter fit and
increased weather protection.
For even more strength, GSI offers stiffened “Farm-Com” grain bins. “Farm-Com” bins
are based on the same engineering principles as larger commercial bins using vertical
stiffeners to channel the load of the bin to the foundation more effectively.
Bin Anchor Brackets
GSI farm bins are secured with our heavy duty anchor
brackets and either J-bolt/U-bolt or concrete anchor bolts.
The anchor brackets are formed to match the corrugated
sidewall sheets and placed outside the bin for easy installation and adjustment. The return flanged bottom ring
is roll formed outward, eliminating the need for bolt-on
base angles. The rolled lip bottom ring provides a bearing
around the bin wall to transfer wall loads evenly to the
foundation.
A very large diameter peak opening allows
fast filling, easy access to overhead equipment and greater air flow during drying. The hingeless cap slides on rods to
open and close and is held secure with
a spring loaded latch. Peak ring flashing
tabs between roof ribs provides additional
weather protection.
“Weather Resistant Roofs.”
Roof Construction
Roof Rings Standard
GSI fabricates bin roofs out of prime, high tensile,
G-90 galvanized steel. GSI's roll formed roof ribs are
fully double capped and have four enhanced reinforced areas on each rib for increased strength and
rigidity. GSI On-Farm storage bin roofs all feature
roof support rings for solid
roof support. Die formed
brackets firmly secure the
roof rings to the roof ribs.
GSI On-Farm storage bin
roofs support 6,000 lbs.
on the center peak of the
bin, the highest in the
industry. Roof panels are
pre-punched and feature
an extruded lip to detour
moisture and condensation.
Roof rings are standard on most
GSI on-farm storage bin roofs
with 18' - 48' diameter tanks
featuring two roof rings.
Auto-Vent
Hinged Grill Vent
Eave Clips
Roof eave clearance can be easily set at the time of installation
with GSI’s eave clips. Increase
exhaust area for drying applications or position low to help
prevent the elements and small
pests from entering during long
term storage.
Two Styles of Roof Vents
GSI offers two styles of roof
vents with heavy duty lock seams
for weather protection. The
hinged grill vent features a vertically mounted, large mesh, wireformed screen to keep out pests
and swings freely open to allow
easy release of trash buildup. The
Auto-Vent reduces “plugging” or air restriction allowing air to
pass freely above and below a wing-shaped damper when fans
are running. When the fan is not in operation, the damper
drops down and closes. Each GSI roof vent increases exhaust
area by 1.8 square feet and bolts directly to a factory, prepunched roof sheet.
Roof Vent Patent #5344363 · Extruded Lip Roof Panel Patent #4480523
“Convenient Bin Access.”
GSI stairways, ladders, cages, platforms, sidewall doors, steps, and
roof caps are all designed for added convenience, easy use, and
weather resistance.
Walk Through Bin Doors
All inner door panels on GSI’s walk
through door open completely with
no horizontal bars or braces to
unbolt or remove. Specially patented* designed lever latches multiply
the inner door
opening force
by 20 times to
counteract friction set from
grain loads,
requiring no use of wrenches or
tools. The outer door cover swings
completely open with the door
cover hold-back and closes tight
with the use of an exclusive weather
seal. Other features include a probe
opening for grain inspection and
factory caulked door frames reducing installation time.
Platforms
An eave platform can be constructed
below the manhole for your convenience when entering the bin or
inspecting the roof. The platform is
die formed from galvanized steel and
machine stamped with a tread grip
pattern.
Sturdy Bin Ladders
GSI ladder sections have roll formed
sides and "swedged" rungs to provide high strength, stability and
quick assembly. Sections are available in 48” lengths and feature specially designed dimpled rungs for a
better grip.
Access Doors
A large diameter access door is
standard on all commercial bins
and optional on farm bins. Dual
wedge-lock door handles seal the
3/16 inch inner door for increased
grain protection.
Bin Steps
GSI’s bin steps provide solid support and easy access to walk-in
doors or other hard to reach areas.
The steps feature a non-skid perforation for better footing and
reduced water buildup.
* Door Patent No. 5135271
GSI bins feature a large diameter
roof manway with full rubber bulb
type seal. The lid hinges fully open
for ease of use.
Galvanized Stairways
For a more convenient alternative
to bin ladders, GSI offers two types
of galvanized stairways, a standard
version and a deluxe model (shown
right). Both types feature sturdy,
interlocking handrails and perforated steps for slip resistance. An
all bolted construction makes for
easy field installation. Stairways
can be installed
on 18’ to 105’
diameter bins
and circle to the
right or the left.
Ladder Cages
GSI’s ladder cages are completely
galvanized and bolt directly to the
prepunched sidewall ladders. The
bottom of the cage has a bell section which allows ample space while
ascending and descending the ladder.
“Strong floor support.”
GSI manufactures many agrifloor designs depending on your specific grain type or aeration requirements. All floor parts are galvanized for lasting durability and feature a unique locking system for
reduced floor movement and solid support.
Cut-Lok Flooring
The “Cut-Lok” flooring is the strongest plank offered from GSI. This
floor is designed with a 12% opening, lanced extrusions and deep
corrugated ribs across a crowned
surface for maximum stability.
Cor-Lok Flooring
GSI’s “Cor-Lok” flooring is available in
18 and 20 gauge and features a 12%
open round-hole perforation. The full
width corrugation and smooth surface for easy cleaning make this floor
a popular choice. GSI also manufactures the 20 gauge “Cor-Lok” in a
small grains perforation.
Grandstand Patented*
Locking Tab Supports
* Locking Tab Patent No. 4137682
Patented* locking tabs attach supports to the GSI plank flooring to
avoid support movement during
installation or fan operation in
empty bins. Available in 18 ga. and
20 ga. Tab supports lock to the
floor in two different positions to
prevent movement.
Optional plenum cleanout panels provide additional convenience for plenum cleanout or
floor inspection.
Traditional

“Grain Aeration &
Conditioning.”
GSI manufactures a complete line of rugged aeration and
grain conditioning systems to help maintain grain quality.
Choose from a variety of high efficiency vane axial, centrifugal and inline centrifugal fans and heaters all with features designed to reduce cost and boost performance.
Delicate drying jobs, such as milo, wheat
or rape seed require special consideration. Aerating tall hopper tanks
can be another challenge. The
inline centrifugal fan is designed
to handle both these applications
effectively. Suited for high static
pressures beyond the performance range of vane-axial fans,
the inline centrifugal fan offers the
same characteristics of a regular centrifugal fan, however it is much more
economical. Sizes range from 1-1/2 HP to
15 HP, 18” through 28” diameters.
Vane axial fan composite airfoil blades
function in low to medium static pressure environments. They are statically
and dynamically balanced for smooth
operation and feature a close tip
clearance for maximum airflow.
Venturis are aerodynamically
engineered to funnel air to
the fan more efficiently.
Both venturis and grill
guards are powder coat
painted for longer life.
Humidistats or thermostats available.
For applications requiring high airflow
at low static pressures, GSI offers
vane-axial fans in 12” dia. (3/4 HP)
through 42” dia. (40 HP). The 12”
through 28” (15 HP) units feature a
3450 RPM motor for increased fan
performance and energy efficiency.
Close fan blade tip clearance and stator vanes provide maximum air flow
and reduced turbulence ensuring
smooth consistent airflow. All 24” and
larger vane axial fans include an inlet
venturi which funnels air more efficiently into the fan.
Whether you’re natural air drying or
heat drying grain, all GSI “drying”
fans give you the option of adding a
heater if the need arises. With capacities up to 2.7 million BTU/hr., our
vane axial fan and heater combination provide the best in high capacity
grain drying. Vane axial heaters are
available in 18” through 28” diameter,
liquid propane, propane vapor or
natural gas.
All GSI Heaters include:
• Quad Pipe Train and Burner Design to
allow heater to work HI-temp or LOWtemp (down to 10 degree temp rise).
• Patented blue-burn optimizer on propane models.
• Transition high limit switch.
• Liquid filled pressure gauge.
GSI’s 1750 RPM centrifugal fans are
built with a heavy galvanized steel,
scroll-type housing and inverted inlet
venturi. A non-overloading backwardinclined aerofoil
wheel provides
high airflow with
a long motor life.
These fans operate at a reduced
noise level and are designed to accommodate a variety of gas or electric
heaters for use on drying bins where
higher capacities are required. Models
are available from 5 - 40 HP with static
pressures up to 11”. GSI also manufactures a 3500 RPM centrifugal fan
designed to operate in static pressures
up to 22” and is mostly used with tall
tanks or small grains tanks with high
resistance to airflow.
GSI’s “Chi-town” heater is a low to
medium temperature grain drying
system typically used with GSI’s centrifugal fans or the 26” vane axial fan.
Capable of .3 to 1.1 million BTU/hr.,
and available in propane vapor or natural gas, “Chi-town” is perfect for the
drying/aeration of rice, corn or other
select grains.
• Automatic ignition shutoff after proof
of flame for extended ignitor life.
Standard Heater Features:
GSI uses super heavy-duty motors to
withstand the years of use in a variety
of climates and conditions.
• Mechanical, normally closed, flame
switch with time delay reset button.
Deluxe Heater Features:
• Solid-state flame sensing using
flame conduction.
• Self-Diagnosing Smart Board with
a 3-year warranty.
• 10 second purge delay
• Large easy access door with clear
view window.
GSI’s downwind centrifugal burner is
a high efficiency option to compliment
our high capacity centrifugal fans.
Specially designed burners are adjustable for uniform heating temperatures
with your choice of liquid propane,
propane vapor or natural gas. Available
for GSI’s 1750 RPM (10-40 HP) centrifugal models, the downwind centrifugal
burner is capable of capacities up to
4.0 million BTU/hr.
Control boxes are weather resistant
with heavy duty start and stop switches.
Centrifugal fans utilize NEMA 4X fiberglass enclosures.
Transitions are available to connect
GSI fans to bins, aeration ducts or
concrete entrance ways.
GSI also manufactures electric heaters for low temperature drying or air
dehumidification. These heaters come
in 230 or 440 volt models.

For quality grain drying...
look to GSI’s full line of portable and stacked dryers constructed with heavy-duty galvanized steel and
industrial grade electrical components. Or, for a grain storage and drying combination, consider GSI’s
Maxim Top Dry in-bin drying system. Whatever your grain drying requirements, GSI can provide you with
a systems to meet your specific needs.
Capable of drying up to 1055 bph,
GSI’s portable grain dryers are perhaps the most user friendly and technologically advanced drying systems
on the market today. Our Competitor
series portable dryer controls allow
Flexible dryer operation gives the
operator a choice of continuous
batch, staged auto or continuous
flow. With computerized controls
sequentially starting all dryer fan,
load and unload motors, these
dryers practically run themselves.
For even larger drying requirements, GSI offers a modular stack
dryer, perfect for future expansion.
Capacities range from 700 BPH (18
MT) to 4100 BPH (104 MT).
Top Dry combines the best features
of a grain drying system with the
convenience of on-site grain storage.
It has large quantities of grain in
process like a bin dryer while maintaining a shallow drying depth allowing higher airflow and high capacities
like a portable dryer. Top Dry can be
manually controlled or automatically
operated using the Auto-Flow computerized system. Other features include:
• a reduction of erection time in the
field by eliminating half of the stiffener bolts previously used on the older
model Top Dry and wider
perforated and ribbed floor sheets.
• utilization of gravity as an energy
source which means savings for you.
• reclaiming heat from previously dried
grain producing big energy savings.
• faster drying times up to 2,000 BPH
(51 MT) of many various grains and
doubles as a storage bin holding up
to 29,000 bushels (510 MT).
complete control of the dryer from
one main panel. There are no moving
parts associated with the controls, so
problems with
mechanical timers and relays
are eliminated.
All dryer functions can be
viewed and controlled from one easy
to read LCD screen on the control
panel.
All multi-fan dryers use our new
Network Control Center. Many high
level functions have been designed
into these controls including total
drying time, bushels per hour, percentage of time on high and low
speed, total bushels dried, operation history and a permanent service
record. GSI’s Watchdog program is
available on the Network Dryers for
offsite monitoring, trouble-shooting
and dryer shut-down.
These dryers feature state-of-theart controls for easy operation
and several fan configurations for
optimal air flow. A unique heat
reclaimer option is also available for
substantial fuel savings, sometimes
upwards of 30% while operating
dry and cool.
Need more drying power for capacities exceeding 4100 BPH? GSI can
