The minerals contained in the seawater accumulate in the
seaweed. This explains the large variety of chemical
elements found in seaweed material. Moreover, they
contain carbohydrates, amino acids, fats and vitamins.

Analyses of the the fibre and the aqueous extracts of the
fibre showed that the active ingredients of algae material
are also contained in fibres and fabrics.
