abundance and an enormous biodiversity
where most of the European ecosystems can
be found.
Rare alpine landscapes, glaciers, ”ibones”,
fluvial gorges, canyons, forests, impossible
geological folds, the delicate beauty of the
arid scenery of the steppes at the Ebro
valley carved by the rivers Ebro, Ara, Aragon,
Gallego, Cinca, Esera… that’s why Aragon is
called “land of rivers”.
Their preservation and protection are highly
guaranteed by the 201 Red Natura 2000
spaces and 15 natural protected spaces like
National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido
which are among them.

Las zonas húmedas y la vegetación de ribera son un oasis de biodiversidad ya que sus corredores naturales o
pasillos verdes son utilizados en diferentes momentos del año por aves en época de nidificación, campeo o en sus
desplazamientos migratorios.
Wetlands and riverbank vegetation are an oasis of biodiversity since their natural corridors or green passages are
used at different times of the year by nesting birds, for grazing or at migratory movements.

La cordillera pirenaica alcanza en Aragón sus mayores altitudes (a partir de 2.200 m). Una formación montañosa
de extremado interés paisajístico, biológico y forestal con bosques atlánticos y mediterráneos de gran belleza. El
agua también es protagonista modelando la piedra caliza y formando mágicos cañones con formas caprichosas.

The Pyrenean mountain range reaches in Aragon its highest altitudes (from 2,200 m high). It is a mountain formation
of an extreme landscape interest as well as a biological and forest interest. The water plays a leading role by carving on
the limestone magic canyons with whimsical shapes.

En la zona central de Aragón, nos encontramos con las estepas de Monegros y Belchite. Terrenos áridos y semidesérticos que constituyen un ecosistema con una fauna y una flora variadas y en gran medida exclusivas de España.
Un paisaje que nos habla de escasas precipitaciones, de plantas adaptadas a la falta de agua o de animales tan
atractivos como el rocín (chersophilus duponti).
In the central area of Aragon, we find ourselves in an original environment like Monegros or Belchite. Dry and halfdeserted lands that comprise an ecosystem with a varied fauna and flora which are exclusive from Spain. A scenery
that shows a scarcity of rainfall, of plants adapted to water loss or so exciting animals like the “Rocín”.
