Dear Members and Colleagues,
In keeping with our mission to “encourage the employment of women in the
trucking industry, to promote their accomplishments and to minimize the
obstacles they face,” the Women in Trucking Association is pleased to announce
our new partnership with MindShare Strategies, Inc. in publishing our official
magazine, “Redefining the Road.”
Did you know that women-owned businesses grow 47% faster than others?
Women make exceptional leaders in companies due to their intuitive/logical thinking,
team-building, and communication skills. And more than 200,000 women drivers now
make up 5 percent of the trucking industry!

REFRESH - CONCEPT 2
Redefining the Road will be distributed three times this year to our entire membership of corporate
executives and managers, drivers, students. This magazine also is circulated at many industry events to
extend our reach to the marketing, including the Mid-America Trucking Show Mar. 31-Apr. 2 in Louisville,
Ky, and at the Women In Trucking Association’s Accelerate! Conference Nov. 7-9 in Dallas, Texas.
The success of Redefining the Road will depend, to a great extent, on the quality and consistency of
its advertisers. It is through your advertising investment that we are able to publish this communication
vehicle, and your support will help us provide the needed resources to encourage women to become
employed in the trucking industry. Equally important, advertising in this magazine directly ties your brand
to the critical importance of supporting gender diversity in the North American trucking industry.
I look forward to working with you to help make this magazine an exciting and successful tool.
Thanking you for your support,

Redefining the Road will strive to educate our readership on all issues affecting women in our industry,
ranging from practical tips on how to become more effective managers to safety and security, amenities
and other issues faced by both male and female drivers. In addition, women often find themselves faced
with obstacles that might not be obvious to those who found them acceptable in the past. This targeted
focus will ensure this magazine is kept on-hand as a reference tool long-after it is published.
