Peugeot offers an extensive range of low emission vehicles;
more than half of its worldwide sales are of vehicles which emit
less than 140g of CO2 per km. This performance is achieved with
breakthrough technology, integration of the Stop & Start system,
development of a new generation of PureTech engines and
Efficient Automatic Transmission 6-speed (EAT6) gearboxes.
1.2 PURETECH TURBO ENGINE
Some key things to note about the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, 12-valve
PureTech petrol engine. Firstly, the smaller engine size means
you pay low road tax. Secondly, it is extremely light and is
turbocharged to provide high performance and torque (129hp
and 230Nm at 1750rpm). Last, but definitely not least, it is
extremely fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly (Euro 6
emissions standard), and has a balancer shaft that gives the new
308 a superb level of refinement.
This engine also won the 2014 Great Auto Environment Prize
across all categories, awarded by a jury of 11 journalists, at
the 10th edition of the Auto Environment MAAF 2014, which
helps encourage and promote innovations that contribute to
sustainable mobility and reduce the impact on the environment.

EAT6 GEARBOX
The new Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission, dubbed EAT6
(Efficient Automatic Transmission 6), incorporates Quickshift
technology to ensure faster gear changes without compromising
on smoothness and takes driving pleasure to all new levels.
It was also designed to dramatically reduce CO2 emissions. The
difference with a manual transmission is now only 5g/km (when
fitted with the same tyres), making this version extremely wellplaced in terms of driving experience and fuel consumption.
SAFETY
BRAKING SYSTEM AND ESP®
To retain optimum balance and preserve your driving
pleasure in all difficult situations, the new Peugeot
308 SW comes with a complete braking system that
combines several functions:
• the ESP® (Electronic Stability Programme), with its
traction control system (ASR), acts on the brakes and
the engine management to limit wheel skid in the
event of loss of grip.
• the Dynamic Stability Control (CDS) continuously
compares information transmitted by the steering
wheel sensor and the yaw sensor to detect any
incipient understeer or oversteer. It then returns your
308 SW to its initial trajectory, as far as the laws of
physics allow.
• the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps you to gain
better control over any loss of grip on emergency
braking.
• the Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBFD)
manages the braking wheel by wheel to increase its
effectiveness, particularly when braking round bends.
• the Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA) increases the
effectiveness of your braking if necessary.
• the direct tyre under-inflation detection locates the
wheel concerned with two levels of warning: underinflation or puncture.
INTELLIGENT TRACTION CONTROL
This intelligent traction control system brings a new
function to the conventional traction control. It assists
in detecting situations of precarious grip which could
make the moving off and progress of the vehicle difficult
on icy or snow-covered roads. In these situations, the
Intelligent Traction Control system takes the place of the
ASR reducing the wheel skid to favour good traction and
maintaining of the trajectory.
ENHANCED SAFETY
In line with the philosophy of the new Peugeot 308 SW,
numerous items of equipment are offered for maximum
safety. In addition to road holding of a high level, its
considerably dimensioned structure contributes to
withstanding and absorbing the energy of front and
side impacts. This is supplemented by intelligent
restraining systems.
AIRBAGS
The new Peugeot 308 SW has 6 airbags:
• 2 front airbags to protect the head and chest of the
driver and passenger in the event of a front impact.
• 2 front side airbags to protect the driver and front
passenger in the event of a side impact.
• 2 front and rear curtain airbags to protect the head of
