“Love Our Counties Outreach and Food Distribution” was blessed by the Lord! Twenty-three of our churches
provided $6,258 as of September 26. We had a total of 239
volunteers from 26 of our churches to participate. We had
one hundred volunteers from 12 of our churches to pack the
food boxes at the Second Harvest Food Bank warehouse on
Saturday, September 10. LifeWay Christian Store provided
659 Bibles through contributions from customers as well as
Sherwood providing additional New Testaments. We distributed 44 food boxes and Bibles through DFACS issued
vouchers in our three counties. We distributed another 45
through Church Vouchers. The remainder of the boxes was
distributed to churches in our three counties as well as the
Lord’s Pantry and Albany Rescue Mission. To top all of this
off one person prayed to receive Christ as his Savior and his
name and information have been given to one of our
churches for follow-up. Praise the Lord! Although we were
not able to give out as many boxes and Bibles as we had
hoped through DFACS vouchers, the churches will be able to
distribute the boxes to needy people in the days to come.
This was a marvelous picture of churches working together
to meet needs and to share the Gospel. What else can be said
other than “to God be the glory!”
Don’t forget to elect your messengers to the Annual
Meeting and let the office know. See more details on the
Annual Meeting on the front page of this newsletter.
Everyone is welcome to participate, but make sure that you
let FBC Sylvester know if you want to eat.
What a blessing Manley Beasley, Jr. was to us
again! We had special times of him sharing and prayer
together. For three of the times there were 20 in attendance
each time and on Saturday morning there were 11 of us. God
challenged us through Manley to continue to seek God. He
used 1 Timothy 1:5 for his instruction. Please look it up, and
meditate on it!!! Our time together (Joint Worship Service)
Sunday night at First Baptist Albany was a culmination of
Manley’s time with us. There were 100 youth from 5 of our
churches meeting simultaneously. There were close to 600 of
us from at least 17 of our churches present. The music was
outstanding led by Jimmie Nettles and the Combined Choir!
Manley preached on holiness from 1 Peter 1:13-16. God
challenged us through to live a holy life because He is holy.
We will have CDs available of the teaching sessions. If you
are interested, call the office.
I am convinced that God wants to revive us. I am
believing God to bring revival to us and our churches. Will
you join me in this belief?
Thank you for permitting me to be a part of what
God is doing and is going to do in and through the Mallary
Baptist Association. I count it a privilege to serve with you
and to be your Director of Missions!
