Celebrate more than Independence Day this July with a visit to Arvada.

Big bang: Fireworks on the fourth of July at Stenger Sports Field
Bring the whole family to Arvada to celebrate the Fourth of July! With facepainting, a kids park, craft booths, live music, food and a Mini Classic Car
show, the Independence Day festivities are a treat that can’t be missed. Be
sure to cap off the day with the breathtaking fireworks.

17th Annual Blues & BBQ Block Party
Blues and BBQ: July 13, 2014 in Olde Town Arvada
Take a trip to Olde Town Arvada for the Duke Street Kings’ seventeenth
Annual Blues & BBQ for Better Housing Block Party! Billed as the best little
blues festival west of the Mississippi, the event has raised over $100,000 to
build homes for families in need. Great music, arts, crafts, delicious food
and a good cause make this block party a must-visit.

Arvada non-profit organizations that benefit children.

Give a Hoot: Craft a Ceramic Owl
Who? You!: make a ceramic owl in Arvada
Learn the intricacies of ceramics in a series of classes at the Arvada
Ceramic Arts Guild. The guild will glaze and fire your unique design. July’s
class shows students how to craft owls, so if you or a friend has an affinity
for these creatures of the night, this is a creative opportunity not to be
missed.
